I'm thinking to buy these. Instead of having the dealer replace the stock filters when it goes in for its 15k I'll just give them these to put in. They are nominally more expensive than the stock ones (going by dealer price), and if they are reusable then over time it will save you money.

I wouldn't expect much in gains from a drop in (Though from what I read it does filter better and help the car breath better), but if I can avoid having to replace stock filters that alone is worth it over the stock paper filters. An added bonus is that it seems to filter the air better and be less constrictive than the stock paper filters, always a good thing to keep the inside and outside of your motor clean.

Does anyone here have these on their car and had to clean them? What is maintenance like on them, I really dislike the oiled filters just for the maintenance factor. Just trying to get this thread back on track, you know with actual useful information.

I ordered these over a month ago and the shop told me they'd be in by next week.

Why I bought these:
I wanted a dry filter due to an experience my friend had with a k&n oiled filter. his altima (a nissan) had his MAF sensor malfunction due to oily residue from the filter. This is what he told me, I can't prove it but I figured I'd take his advice and stay dry, especially since our Gs are nissan, why take a chance.

My other car, a camry, has a k&n oiled filter, for at least 50,000kms and I have no problems with that (only cleaned/reoiled once).

I bought these not really for the power increase, but for longevity, no need for replacement, and yes there is an improvement in throttle response.

I'll let you know what I think of it on the G when I put it in.

Soapy water and rinse it. Dry it than you good to go.

Not the same filter type, but they probably use the same element.

 

Good but I'd say not enough. You also should be carefull with he air. There could be water in the compressed airline and if you install it right after you blow clean it. It can do more damage since you have moisture trapped in the filter.

I am planning to use airgun every 2k miles and wash it every 6k miles.
