tire presure sensor error?

haven't posted in a LONGG TIME... but anyhow...

my tire pressure light has been on for a while now... it's the front tire on the right.. i checked the tire pressure and it's about 19.5. took it to the tire shop and they said the tire itself is fine but the senor is letting the air out instead???

has this ever happened to you guys? the guy who checked my tire said it's a pretty common problem.. he has a G35 himself

soooooo the next day i brought it to service... and they told me they couldn't do it till like 2 weeks from now.. so basically i have to drive with a prettyyyy flat tire. LAME!

you need to keep putting air in that tire.... my back right is doing the same thing. it may be that as well?? its a real slow leak. the light comes on and i have about 20psi in the tire. i fill it to 35psi and then the tire pressure warning comes on about a week later.

Hey go to discount tire and talk to either Jerry, Randy or Edrich. I work for discount tire and its a very common problem it sounds like you just need to rebuild the sensor they tend to leak after some time. Just go see them or come to my store over on John Young and Sand Lake.

I can't believe a dealer told you to wait 2 weeks to fix that! They should be able to do it while you wait! I'd say go to another dealership. They will replace the sensor and match them up to the car.

Base warranty is 60K miles / 48 months. The 07 should still be covered, but regardless, only a dealer can match the new TPMS to the car.

Great info ... I thought the CONSULT was needed to match the TPMS to the BCM. What tool do you guys use?

often I will find corrosion built up on the rubber seal around the TPM. break down the tire, clean the sealing surface, and you're good to go.

I don't exactly know what it is called but I have two of them and I have the instructions to every car with TPMS, because every car has a different way to learn the sensors.

That too is a problem but we always recommend to rebuild the sensor, which comes with a new gormet, valve, the TPMS nut and the cap, and it is torqued down to specs.

yea I go to the dealer in montclair.. it was my first time there and I didn't get a good impression from them at all.

and yup it leaks very slowly. I guess I'll just keep putting air in for now.
thanks for everyone's input!
