Two annoying NOISE problems in brand new G35 2008

Hi all,

I am just wondering if any one else experienced this.

1) loud compressor noise: when AC is on, after 10 or 15 minutes, the compressor noise gets very loud and annoying.

2) "clicking" noise coming from passenger seat - can't seem to figure the source, it is not the belt, it appears to come from either the speakers or a/c openings

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure with either -- i have a 2k8 and a 2k9 G sedan in the garage ...

i would have someone drive your car while you investigate the clicking noise -- until then, i can't venture a guess as to what it could be

as far as the compressor -- ours are not loud at all -- perhaps you should have the dealership investigate this one...

Oh, welcome! nice choice of cars, you'll love it

I know there was a TSB, or perhaps a recall, for the compressor on the '07. I had the same issue when i got my car. The dealership replaced it under warranty and it's been trouble-free since. *knock on wood*

My passengers seat started to click as well. Sounded to me that it was in the door while driving.

The source was/is the vibrating seat back causing a clicking on the plastic cover that sits in front of the outer seat rail. I think it may cover the bolt that holds the seat down. I tried to mess with that cover and it seemed to go away for now.

I have an 08 as well and my compressor is pretty loud too. But I'm not having any issues with the clicking passenger seat.

yep, my AC gets very loud and it sounds like sh*t.

If anybody knows about a TSB or anything, I would love to know about it so I can go to the dealer.

I had an issue with my '07 exactly like your AC, they replaced the compressor, took care of it! By the way, all AC's make some noise, none are perefctly quiet.

I have a 07 model and my compressor sounds like sh*t when it cycles...im gonna take it in soon to have it looked at. Also I have a clicking type noise coming from the pass side rear seat area that only happens when I go over bumps. I took it in and they said that they couldnt verify anything with this noise. Im sure they are blowing me off cuz they dont want to waste their time with a noise complaint since it probably pays like **** with warranty time.

Our compressors are of the variable-displacement type. It should not be cycling at all.

I have to say I haven't had my G for too long but I have driven quite a lot before I purchased mine. I find mine to be faily tame, I can't ever remember any in my test drives being too loud either though.

My friend has an 08 and when I asked him about his, his was still very quiet.
He now has 20K on his and his A/C is starting to get louder.
Eventually, I think most of them end up getting pretty loud.

I'm asking about it when I go in for new fluids
