Question 07 Owners, need your advice!!!

So as my name suggests.....I drove an 08. But it was totaled out and I am going to be buying a used g35 this time around.

I'd love to get an 08 but the prices are just too high so it looks like an 07 is on the plate.

My question is: Is there anything I should specifically check when buying the 07 model? Seein that it was the first year for this model...any peculiarities I should know about?

make sure or at least check to see if the clutch recall has been performed. I got mine two months ago and a week later, my clutch (well, technically the slave cylinder) went out.

also if getting auto get the throttle TSB to make car acceleration smoother if so you wish, so pretty much no real difference between the 2 years and if any they are covered under the TSB's and recalls so you should be covered for free.

try to find one still under warranty.

with 4/48, you should be able to find one fairly priced with full dealer support.

some common problems w/ 07:

- sunroof leaks or accordian trim falling down
- door rubber loose
- clutch recall
- rattles from dash or door area
- gas cap tether broken
- nav not updated

The main difference I see between the 07 and 08 is the iPod integration. It was really hard for me to justify the 3000-5000 difference in price just for that one convenience. I've also read they changed the voice commands on the 08s and there are actually fewer now, so some folks prefer the 07 for that reason.

Hope that helps,

also check the trim around the steering wheel for peeling and cracking of the paint, as well as the insturment cluster for warping. also if you get an x or it is the premium package check to make sure the seat warmers work. there was a TSB on the Passenger and Driver seats having a large difference in temperature

mine has the bu camera.

also, the temp sensor post reminded me that mine had something called a "varistor" replaced under the passenger seat. i believe this was related to the airbag sensor not allowing the bag to deploy at the correct weight in the seat, but this might have been the heated seat sensor? not sure.
