door lock damged, windows roll down

just had my G35 broken into,( jersey garden mall in elizabeth nj)
driver side lock was damaged, which roll the windows down(never knew this)
nothing was taken, they open the sunglasses compartment, center console and glove compartment, and went thru my trunk.
the police officer who responded, his first question was what year is your infinity? i told him 2007, and asked him why he asked that.
he told me that 2007 and 2008 infinity g35s and altimas have that problem
and thats how thiefs break into them.
when I told him nothing was stolen even my escort radar detector or ravo
sunglasses, he told they were looking for registration and insurance card for my personal info, so they can go to the dealer and have a key made, and then go to my house later on and steal the car, he also asked to check for owners manual, which i did not have in the car, he told the reason they take the owners manual its because people sometimes put their ins or registration card in there
i am going to have the car fixed but i want to know is there anyway that i can disable this feature , i know that you can have the windows roll down from the key, any help with this will be appreciated thank you

I'm pretty sure the feature can be disabled. Just ask your dealership they should do it for free.

Sorry, I think I missed it, but what is the problem that '07 and '08 g35 have exactly?

They damage the driver side lock and the window rolls down?

Yea.

I'm sorry to hear this but glad nothing was stolen. But dude, you're on a G35 forum. You gotta at least spell infiniti for us!

I'm blown away people are pulling this kind of **** off. I think infiniti needs to crack down on giving out spare keys to people.

Take a flathead screwdriver, jam it into the door's keyhole and twist.
It damages the lock but rolls the window down.

This isn't a G thing. Most new cars have this feature now and the thieves love it.
It can be disabled but it requires getting inside the door to access the wiring if I remember correctly.
Then, you can do the door lock delete to get rid of the keyhole.

They'll have no way of pairing their new fob to your car so there is no hope in starting the G.
This plan doesn't work well withthe G. It works very well with cars that use a physical key to unlock the door and the same key to start the car.

what wires need to be disconnected? is the door lock delete involve
removing the lock cylinder or just keyhole.

It's been posted in the past but I'd have to search for it.
I'll look around when I get home. Searching this forum on an iPhone is a pain in the neck.
