Tint Help Needed

Hello everybody, I have done a ton of searches, but I couldn't really find anything to help me out. I had a couple questions but wanted to preface it with the fact that I live in PA where tint less then 70% is illegal. I have black on black and my car just gets way too hot though and I love the look of tint. My questions are:

Did anybody have the small tint strip installed on the top of the windshield? Does it still look classy or does is look out of place on a G sedan?

I was thinking about doing 48% on the sides and 40% on the back? Or should I try 48% on just the front windows and then 40 on the back sides and rear window? Do you think the fade tinet is more of a tip off to cops?

Feel free to share your thoughts and pics if you have any that may help. Thanks!

If you want to stay legal, Solar Guard makes a film called "Ultra Performance" in 75% (they also make 60 and 45%). It's basically optically clear, but, it rejects 99% of the UV and 40% of the solar energy. It will cut down the heat you're experiencing by a LOT, and you'll stay legal (if you want to, that is).

Something to consider, darker doesn't always mean it has better heat rejection.

Thanks guys, I wish I had those options, but can you imagine there are only 2 installers in the entire county I live in? ANd I don't live in a farm or anything, but since it is PA and there si not a lot of demand, there just isn't many options for. Between both, they only have limo, 15, 20, 35, 40,48 and 50. And they each carry like 1 brand. I do appreciate the feedback.

getting tints on 27th, need suggestions on type of tint

Hi guys,

I'm scheduled to get my tints done next Monday. The guy told me he uses either metallic tint or this other one that he recommends. The metallic is cheaper but i've heard issues of messing with your AM frequencies, nav, etc. Has anyone used the metallic tint and had no trouble so far? He told me the metallic will be 260 and the other (i don't remember the name) is 360 so its just a hundred dollar difference. Which one should i go with?

Also, i'm thinking about doing 35% in the back and then 50% on the passenger/driver side. Anyone have any pics of it? I've been looking but haven't found anyone with LP with that tint combo. I'm still considering 35's all around as well.

Let me hear your suggestions!

From what I understand there is not much of an issue with todays metalic tints. In fact I was trying to decide myself if I should go with a metalic or a ceramic not too long ago. I ended up with a 35% all around ceramic which I think is perfect not too light not too dark. I also feel like it is pretty good with heat, couldnt be more happy with my choice. Everyone will have their own opinions of course.

35% all around is the way to go....as greek boy said, not too light and not to dark...just perfect.

With 50% in front, it will look like you don't even have a tint during the day.

Interesting. Yeah california is a little **** about tints especially the area i'm from that's why i'm even considering 50's in the front so it's not as noticeable. have you had any troubles with nav/radio frequencies?

Nope, I haven't had a single problem with the ceramic. I believe I paid around $300 or so for mine. One of the best things I did for my G

20% ceramic all the way around. I'm a fan of ceramic tint personally.

they'd look light. this is 40%, so it'd be a little darker than this. i'll see if i can find a 35% picture. I wish mine were a little darker still.
