just one thing infiniti - please please please keep the non-sunroof car as an option! thanks!

I understand what you're saying, but infiniti would cease to exist if they went that route. What would be the point of saying you're a luxury car if you have no luxury features in it. Even cheap economy cars boast of extras in their vehicles. I can see the fun a competitor would have with any luxury car maker that offers a stripped down model under a luxury badge.

agreed. infiniti's bread and butter is in the options, just as all the mid-level luxury marques' are. but i'd still like the option that's all. i waited the 4 months for my car to come in the way i like it. bmw still offers a rwd 6mt m3 sedan sans roof, and with a grippy cloth/alantara blend. i believe the cts-v can be ordered w/o a sunroof. unfortunately this is going away, just as the manual transmission will slowly be phased out i fear in time. i think even porsche mandates the roof now except in their ultra hi-po variants like the gt3 rs. such is life, such is the market economy. the buyers speak, and we small few lose the option in the process. c'est la vie...

Very, very true. Personally, I'd love to manual trans stick around as an option for most "sports" vehicles without having to put in a special order. I understand the costs associated so I know why things are the way they are.

i waited for the '09 G37 to come out b/c of the VQ37VHR and 7 speed auto. If I bought a G35 in 2008 and didn't know about the 2009 G37 I would have been pissed. Actually, one of my friends bought an '08 G35 and he was pissed when he found out about the '09 upgrades.

The 2010 has some changes, but I already have the major updates (engine and tranny) so unless they are going to an 8 speed auto, this G37driver is happy.

No Options

My 05 was ordered without any options and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Roofs reduce the amount of headroom significantly and tall guys need the extra headroom. I just want a car, not something to hang options on.

I believe the 09 G weights are up 150lbs. over my 05. They were smart with the Z as they managed to keep the weight down or at least keep it about the same. Some of the weights on the new cars are ridiculous. The Taurus SHO, for example, has become a real porker having gained about 1000 lbs. over the earlier cars.

Infiniti as well as other manufacturers need do a better job keeping the weight down- particulary on sporty cars.

You sound like us 2008 buyers justifying our purchases with the new 2009's coming out. I will refrain from rubbing this into the faces of the 09 buyers like they did to us 2008 owners. But even though you have the engine and trans. you have to be upset about the changes. I mean what if the 2010 rocks? Now I won't feel bad getting the redesigned model, I knew was coming out, 2-3 years after my 2008 purchase. Lots of people swore the redesign wasn't coming out, but this follows Infiniti's time table.
