Is there any difference in feel between X and S?

I live in NY aswell and have the 08S. In the dry its more fun to drive. And the fact that it snows 3x a year in NY isnt justifable for the loss in MPG due to AWD. As far as the bigger brakes havent noticed a diff as compared to the X. The sport seats are Great though, and rwd is real fun especially w/traction on off =))

Your right about it barely snowing Igor, you ever on Long Island? Anyway if an X and S were to race all circumstances equal in a straight line would there be any difference? How about on turns? Anyway thanks for the input, one last thing. Do the 07 sedans have an axillary input, like a port to plug in an ipod?

exactly...give me some snow/rain/ice and lets see where the "S" goes.
i've always loved that aspect of the X...to be quick in the summer and quick in the winter. i remember laughing my a$$ off at a RWD lexus IS350 last winter, the guy couldn't move in the intersection when the light went green (slight uphill). so he kept gunning it and nailed the curb with his back wheels. me, i just gunned it and went on happily ever after.

you just have to know what you are doing.

How long is this race? Punch an X and it just goes. Punch an S and you get a little wheel spin. 1/4 mile runs in these two cars, it's anyone's race.
The S has a lower, tighter suspension, slightly larger brakes and an LSD.
The X handles like a sport sedan, never needs to stay home because it snowed and runs neck and neck with the S. In fact, I'll go as far to say that I think my X would beat a stock S in the 1/4 with my minor mods.
I bought the X cause this is my daily driver and I need to get places no matter the weather. If I lived in CA, it would have been the S.
Why don't you just test drive an S and compare yourself.
This S vs X conversation will never change and you'll always get the same answer... depending on who you ask.

Incidentally CR tested an '09 Journey RWD sedan and 0-60 time was 5.6 sec and 14.1 sec 1/4 mile time.

I've never driven an X, but drove only AWD cars when I lived in MN. Now that I'm in TX, I think the '07 S is just about the ideal car. You should know that every S has a much firmer suspension, which should make the car entertaining even past 100k miles, without an expensive suspension swap. It has the tight-fitting adjustable bucket seats, a plus for some, as well as the bigger brakes, steering wheel shifters, and something that nobody has mentioned here, Premium Package, and I'm not sure an X is required to have that.

wait, where in NY do you live that it only snows 3 times a year?
Didn't they almost have a white out last year in the city with all the snow?
At Fort Drum upstate ny there is snow all winter long.
I'm in indiana, if i was getting a sedan i would get an X. If i wanted performance i'd get a coupe (which i have). I wouldn't buy a RWD sedan for performance.

Live on Long Island NY, big difference in snowfall then upstate. I also want performance which is why I'm going with the sedan, there lighter then the coupe and have more HP. Anyway after comparing the two visually I have to go with the S. I love the wheels and exterior body kit that just makes it a better looking car then the X. Also the sport seats and paddle shifts have me sold.

I have to travel to Long Island once in a while for work (Islandia/Islip). They may not get a ton of snow, but it definitely snows there and their highway dept does a lousy job of treating the roads. I'm sure you'll be fine with a good set of winter tires, but the X will definitely perform better in the winter months if this is going to be your daily driver.
Side sills, Sport front bumper, paddles, wheels and seats now come with the Xs.
You need to decide if you want AWD or RWD and worry less about everything else, since that's all available to you either way.
