Clear Bra and Lowering Car

Can anyone send a close-up picture of a clear bra? I am thinking about one because I am going to flip my lid every time I get a rock ding. Also, where did you get it, did you put it on yourself, and costs. Thanks!

Lowering: does lowering it a little help or hurt performance (assuming you make all the correct adjustments in toe, etc. that people have been writing about).

And oh, to that guy blasting off on the young kid, I paid for the car and for the mods MYSELF.

Clear bras you can get put on at any tint shop. Just look on yelp or some well known tint place in your area. For example, vince at omegatintwerks in norcal does wonders.

I just lowered my sedan this past weekend. It depends on whether you're going for springs or coilovers. I got the eibach pro kit and the ride is pretty much stock. You can feel the road a little more but it's a lot more sportier and i like how it rides on turns now. If you lower, you might want to get a camber kit as well. I plan on getting one once i need to buy new tires/wheels.

Close up pics of clear bras are useless, as it's almost impossible to see the bra in any pics.
In the first and third pics, you can see the seam between the parking light and the grill. You have to get VERY close in order to see any of the edges, unless the car id dirty.
The seams stick out like sore thumbs in the winter weather.

You will never install the film yourself. Hire a trained professional. I had mine installed at the dealer... they have a 3M certified installer on staff. I paid $600... they wanted $695. That covers the whole front side of the hood, upper and lower front bumper sections, fenders and mirror fronts. I didn't do the door handle cups as I never scratch mine.

I have been giving the clear bra some thought as well but would need to repaint my bumper first. I think the previous owner pretty much did all highway driving, it is a mess. Scott did you get yours done at Tint Kings as well? Brian brought it up to me after I did my tint and it got me thinking.

No, Brian did the tint almost a year after I bought the car, but the 3M was done at the dealer before a single mile was put on it.
Killed me too... I waited for my car to come from the factory for months and when it finally arrived, the 3M installer was on vacation

Yeah that would of been quite aggravating dying for your new G only to find out guess what you need to wait some more.

I think I have heard you say you have been very happy with it on another thread right? any issues or anything come up since you have put it on?

My first mod a few years ago:

Be sure to get referrals for your local installer!

My only issues are...
1) It looks like complete crap in the winter if you let the road salt build up. I try to keep her clean year round though.
2) Once you get wax or clay bar on the edges, it's damn near impossible to get rid of it. I just try to be really careful.

This thin film has saves me from plenty of potential damage. I love it and won't own another car without it.

How does this work on a lease? Can they be removed safely afterwards? I had one on my 04 coupe that looked good when it was new, but after a couple of years, some of the edges in the lower bumper around the light started to bubble.

They can be easily removed with a little heat applied, yes.

Thanks for the input! Yeah you should see my front end now, I just got back from waxing it and it is just filled with rock chips. I think I will end up repainting the bumper and heading down to brian and seeing what kind of price he will offer. The bumper isnt anything too bad you can't see a thing with taking a step back but I know it's there and it bothers me. Sounds like the clear bra is the perfect answer for me.
