Mold smell (leaking windshield) wwyd?

OP: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-37-...r-died-me.html

When entering the car it smells like nasty wet carpet. I can only assume its from the drivers side floor where the leak took place. I tried to dry it out as much as I could after the whole crazy incident. Ive contacted the windshield company b/c they have yet to pay me for my out of pocket expenses BUT now Im concerned with this awful smell.

Would an interior detail fix the problem? Do I need to replace the floor mats etc? I just want my car back like it was before they replaced the windshield. Thanks for your help.

Best case scenario is that you just gotta dry everything real well and the smell will go away. Worst case scenario, you have mold that has grown underneath you interior carpet on the floor. In which case, you will need to pull up enough carpet to wipe down the floor with some bleach or some kind of solution that will kill the bacteria that's causing the smell. I don't think a normal interior detail will get rid of the smell unless they are going to pull up some carpet (if you have mold). If you do have mold, I would take care of it ASAP. This stuff isn't healthy to breathe in, especially in such a small space (car cabin).
