Humm I think 13s is roughly what you should be looking for on a stock G35 (not sure), as for shifting power starts to drop off before the red-line, not sure where exactly but I usually shift at 7.5k which is around the red line, but I don't think that's the "best" way of shifting....someone correct me

I have a MT so i shift @7600rpm and because its a manual it does shift instantly at that rpm unlike the AT which shifts a little after when you upshift from paddles or lever. The power satrts to drop from 7600+ so that really is the best time to shift as it gets you right into the max power zone for you next upshift gear.

And as far as the 13. something that is a good time the G's time goes from 13.5-14.1sec, 13.5 being a good driver in good conditions. Average being around 13.7-14.1. So i think you did well, where did you do this? wats temps?

Haven't we also seen many people state that DS has proven to be quicker than M mode?
DS with VDC off was the best option, I thought.

I'm only saying that because the shift is not instant. So the RPM will continue to build up before it shifts. Sometimes if you shift later (7400ish), by the time the car actually does shift, it would be too late and it would've hit the fuel cut-off and bog for a split second instead.
