Does acceleration feel quicker on an S?

Does acceleration feel quicker on an S?

Test drove a few X's and they feel great with AWD.
My question is if you were to drive both an X and an S would the S feel like its quicker because its power only has to go to 2 wheels?
If you were to drive both in a straight line would you be able to tell which was the S and X by a harder pull during acceleration or do they feel the same?

AWD and RWD feel completely different. the S is lighter so it would be a bit quicker. unless your talking about the XS

Talking about an 07 S and X. In straight line acceleration would the FEEL of the S be different then the X? Would it feel like its pulling harder due to RWD vs AWD? Not talking about weight etc.

Do you not understand the role weight plays in acceleration?

The RWD would be/feel faster because of weight.

Ok listen I understand about p/w ratios please listen to my question again.
Would the G sedan feel different during acceleration due to RWD vs AWD, ignore weight for this question pretend it is not a factor or that they weight the same. If these two vehicles had the same weight would the S feel faster because the power is being put down to the rear wheels rather then all four?

When I test drove them it felt the opposite to me (I have an XS). Also I don't think outside of the difference in the seat that the XS would feel much different then the X, maybe the tires, but the rest is basically appearance. Due to the smaller wheels the X may actually be a little quicker over the XS if the wheels are lighter, are they?

The facts however for the X versus the S will probably prove that feel is not actuality. I took a 2006 Corvette out for a ride and it felt like it was not much different than the Infiniti (did not light up the tires) but the facts are that it would blow it away in acceleration.

under straightline hard acceleration almost all the power is directed to the rear wheels on the X. so it would "Feel" the same, the S will be quicker though.

Honestly they feel alot different to me, i can launch the x much faster and more consistent b/c the wheels dont slip, the s version will slip a bit off the line unless you are a professional driver, I have driven both, i think to about 25-30mph the x faster( and its running smaller all season tires dont forget), but after 30, the xtra weight (120lbs?) slows down the x,

Most magazine articles and 0-60 times are very close, .1-.2 diff to 60 is all, is all what you prefer tho, (they are both fast as hell IMO)

They are very close in times and some have reported the X faster if recall correctly. The Xs and the X are essentially the same performance wise, outside of bigger wheels on the Xs. The X is in AWD for the first some odd 12mph (17 in snow mode). The S I believe has a sport suspension and better brakes.

For me, I have the Xs and love it. The AWD is fantastic and I can easily see why AWD cars can outperform RWD cars. Maybe, maybe not the G, but Audi's for example have great performance and are full time AWD. Most supercars are AWD these days.

The question may be is the 12mph limit on the AWD car good or bad? It allows the car to show more characteristics of a RWD car, but maybe at a detriment. Should it be a more full time system like the Audi? I think the answer is fun. RWD is wild and fun. So they add a little more fun with RWD bias AWD car.

I call BS on anyone who claims their S is quicker than an X.
Yeah, the X is a bit heavier but it also delivers all of it's power all four wheels which offers WOT from a stop with zero wheel slip.
The S handles better on the track due to the lower and stiffer suspension, LSD, and brakes a little better due to the larger brakes and lighter mass but for every day driving or straight line WOT runs, I'm not seeing much of an advantage.

This discussion has happened 100 times on this board, if not more.

Thanks for all the feedback but...

Let me try to make my question more clear.
I realize the X and S are very similar when it comes to performance but my question is in regards to feel.
Would the S push you back in the seat harder during acceleration and feel faster on the butt dyno? So not really concerned with which is faster but rather does the S feel any faster due to the RWD configuration?

When I took both out for a test drive it the 'S' did not feel as fast as the 'X'. On paper however the 'S' does have the edge but not by much.

To me its biggest advantage are the brakes. On the track this would translate into getting deeper into the corners. With its lighter weight a little fast out of the corners.

However if one was at the same road clearance, running the same tires, same brakes, I would take the X on a wet track.
