Imagine this happening to you!!!

****ing shelf fell on my hood in the garage! Scratched it and put a dent right on the fender line. I tried the hair dryer for 1min and then hold the duster can upside down for 10 sec, and nothing worked. I went to Publix and got dry ice put it looks way to big for me to even try but I will and I'm sure I will fail miserably!

I scheduled an apointment with my dealership to have one of the PDR specialist to look at it with me. Any other suggestions? how much you think it will set me back?! GOD im PO'd!!

Damn.... that would be a real **** off.
I won't ask who put the shelf up in the first place.

JMO, but the way that's creased at the top.....
You won't fix it with anything but body shop work.

actually now that I think about it, you're lucky it didn't fall on top of your hood, and hit your engine. :\

Let's see....when the tree branch (the first one) fell on my car and caused similar damage, the dealer charged me (well, my insurance company) about 1900. That also included a new hood though as there was a little damage there too apparently (I didn't notice it).

So, I'd claim it on Comp if you can.

Bummer.

Yeah, I agree with Ian. A hair dryer or dry ice is not correcting this much damage.

Yea, Today I'm taking everything down thats on the wall and re-locating it. I just got back from talking to Brice he is the owner of Central Florida Dent Repair and said around 150$, so I will probably be doing it when he is free sometime early next week. He has been doing it for about 10 years and has videos up on his site. Looks like he does good work. I will be happy when all is said and done!!

cfldentrepair(dot)com

No more shelves!

There's a guy who lives in Pensacola called the Dent Doctor. Very talanted and highly recommend for problems like this. You could call him just for a second opinion.

I've never admitted this to anyone but I dented that same fender shortly after buying the car. It's really amazing how easily it happened. I was being stupid and maneuvering around a car that had parked behind me and I rubbed the fender against an empty trash can and it bent in. Honestly. I couldn't believe it. Anyway, that same day I took it to a body shop and had it fixed. I went to a body shop that specializes in show cars and they were able to get it taken care of right away. I paid about $750 and you'd never know it was worked on. It's really that good. Hope that helps. Don't tell anyone...

Ouch! I would be pissed beyond belief. Make sure you take that to a good body shop you trust. It doesn't seem that bad for an entire shelf coming down on it. I would imagine it wasn't too loaded up so it couldn't of been worse, think about the bright side!
