Trading my G?? Someone talk some sense into me!

Mitsubishi was on a decent roll about 10 years ago w/ quality new products & fresh styling. Once they botched the front end styling of the Galant & Diamante their whole market share seemed to slide along with it. Mitsu is barely a blip on the auto scene now and their anemic resale values reflect this. The Evo is an exception w/ a very spirited and road-worthy vehicle, but like mentioned it is ALL about zippy performance and nothing about style & class. I doubt I'd consider such a tradeoff but it's a highly personal decision. With the G you've got a very desireable vehicle that appeals to a very large % of the population, the Evo is the polar opposite that appeals to a very small group of hard core street zippers. I think I'd much rather consider the
S2k over an Evo if it's fun you want (and still have a car that most people still want) just my 2cs. Good luck w/ your decision and you've got a very sweet G BTW.

I WOULD consider a s2k, if i wasn't so Anti-honda, among other reasons
Also, i JUST Came from a 350z to the G. Because i needed the space and wanted AWD on my Daily Driver. That's why i was thinking the evo, AWD, FAST, somewhat practical...although the trunk with the battery, washer fluid tank and No fold down seats, not even a pass through like the G, is borderline useless...okay, maybe not so practical..lol
When it comes down to it, a G with the VQ37, and Attesa AWD system, is a damn good all weather perfomance setup. The G just has Little to no compromise all around.
The G is 9/10 at everything is does. The evo is a 10/10 for performance, and a 5/10 for everything else...why that 1 tenth of performance means so much to me, i don't know.. I realize i would be giving up a butt load of tenths in other categories for it
Thanks for all the positive comments about my G guys

I think the smartest scenario for me, would be to keep the G and Get an S13 or S14. Then make it trackable. I used to own an S14 so i know the SX's pretty well.
I've been doing alot of Evo X research. ALOT of common problems and things to note.
-Extensive Paint chipping on lower rear doors, and hood scoops. Paint is complete BS apparently
-Rough running is common, seesawing rpm's and near stalling idle, dealer fix
-Evo's are poorly tuned from the factory, apparently they run WAY to rich.
They need a reflash which automatically voids mitsu's strict warranty policy
-The SST's(twin clutch auto trans) are extremely weak and it is recommended you stay at near stock HP levels
-Their "fast key" system (a worse version of our intelligent key) is super finicky, Many people have been stranded for hours on end. Particularly if you set off the steering wheel lock when it's off, you'll likely have problems turning the car on again. They are also known for deprogramming themselves
-Fuel pump and pressure regulator issues
-Noise and vibration problems galore
-Fitment issues with stock bumper and Side skirts
-Those sweet recaro seats, the best part of the interior IMO.-People are reporting upholstery tearing(in leg bolster area) with less than 10k on their cars.
i can go on and on...It's a scary thought to own something like that.....

I would but the evo forums are full of tards pretty similar to the honda forum mentality.
believe it or not people on the evo forums believe their cars are Fast, Classy AND Refined.....?....go figure.
It's definitely a different crowd over there...There's threads where people brag about the comments they get outside of burger king's...

haha yea...But apparently the 5 speed unit in the evo 10 GSR's is lacking. The ratios aren't spread out properly and 5th gear is apparently WAY too short.
Evo owners complain that even in 5th gear doing 80mph they rev consistenly in the 3500 to 4000 rpm range..lol

My cousin has an Evo-X (actually same color as the one you're buying) It's a nice car, BUT expect to deal with a much harsher/ stiffer ride. Constantly shifting gears up (the spool is silly). I drove the X for 2 days and it was silly because within like 10 sec of driving from the lights I'm already in 5th gear and it was annoying.
Also visibility will be greatly reduced with that silly rear wing. But if you're into modding the hell out of a car then the Evo is the best choice, you get decent HP increase for relatively little money (compared to the G).
It is a nice car if you're willing to keep up with the problems that come with it.
