Gearing up for the winter weather!

Guys I have been trying to get ready for the winter trying to think about what would be best for keeping the G nice, clean and scratch free... well as much as possible. The WeatherTech mats have been something on my list but I don't think I will end up picking those up quite yet, however they look awesome! The next item I keep looking at and seeing on forums is these Sno Brum's. They seem like they should work pretty good, no rough brush to scratch or do any damage. Plus they aren't bad on the pocket either you can pick them up pretty cheap on Amazon. I put up a link for those who have no idea what I am talking about with this "Sno Brum".

Amazon Amazon

Let me know if you guys have any negative or positive feedback or any suggestions of a product you like to use in the winter.

I'd want to see one of those in person before agreeing that it's safe for dragging across my car.
I'm fortunate enough to have a garage at both work and home. I just keep a nice telescoping scrapper in my car for window cleaning and the occasional wipe off of light snow.

The best defense from the winter weather is a proper detail and application of protection in the Fall. Get some good protection on your car. I always put a good wax, seal and glaze on in the Fall and again on a warmer winter day half way through the season.

that sno brum would never have the priveledge to see my car, you might as well use a 2x4 to clear the snow.

I'd bet some people poor washing techniques are probably more harmful than careful use of that thing.

^no doubt...
I just don't see the need for it myself.
Just brush the top loose snow off, don't go down to the paint.
Also, 1 less thing in the trunk.

The fact is that even if the blade if very soft foam, it only needs to grad hold of a small ice fragment for it to become a real hazard to the finish.

Scott, I can't agree more about the proper wax before a winter. I just finished my waxing not too long ago in fact. I had no intention of putting on another coat until after the winter but that is a pretty good idea to put a coat on half way if you ask me. Looks like the Sno Brum will be a no go for me as well going to end up sticking to a regular brush for my cleaning duty.

Just finished my winter prep. Washed, Polished, and re-washed. Then 2 coats of wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant. Followed by 2 coats of supernatural.
