I would think that given his driving experience, his time is the exception rather than the norm. He must be a very good driver, especially since he's driving a 6MT too.

Track prep must have also been very good on that day (again, I didn't see the slip nor did I search for his original post) as he must have pulled a very good 60' time to get that 12.9. Weather must also have been good.

I would imagine that not more than 1 or 2 more people would ever achieve that same time.

No one's come close. His 1100hp vette probably runs better times. He says he'll post that when he runs it.

G35 or G37 both nice cars. Nothing really fast about 5.xxx cars but the whole package is good. Also if you need more hp there is option. TT 600hp at 12 Psi w/o engine upgrade is prety impressive. Props to Nissan for building a good engine. Nice to think about have a nice DD car with the possibility to go to the track and run 11-12 on 1/4.

Do you guys know what the TT set up goes for$$$$? 15k?

So how much Horsepower and torque does a G37 have? I've got the HFCs and Invidia installed and with this I can easily beat a stock G35 but I would have thought the G37 would have been harder to beat?

P.S. All driving was done on Private property!!
Could it have been an X. Actually to me many focus on 0-60 times, 1/4 mile etc. and can't figure out why a car with 400 hp isn't that much quicker than one with only 300 hp. Besides simply being able to lock the tires to the pavement even the spool up time of an engine comes into play. Simply because it has x number of hp at a particular rpm doesn't take into account how long it takes to get there even if the car was not in gear.

My buddy wants to race me in his new G37S Sedan (I have an 08 G35 sedan). Should be an interesting match. I've got a little more racing experience and my car is fully broken in (many long-term mag tests of the G35 show it was a couple of tenths faster at 40k miles compared to new). Both cars are bone stock.

If we go, I'll be sure to post the results. Wish me luck!!

I own a G35xS and had it in for some maintenance.

They loaned me a G37x.

I thought the car was much less responsive than mine, though I did like the 7 speed on the freeway.

I didn't care much for the shifting in normal street driving compared to mine.

I don't know if it's the differences between the xS and X or the fact that I have some decent mods, but man my car far outperformed this loaner. Perhaps the ECU was just trained to be soft.

Outside of that and looser steering the car seemed identical.

Keep in mind that the loaner has probalby been driven by all sorts of different types of drivers. So it really is hard to compare unless you have it long enough to get used to you.

i think it was around 10k total installed. the thread below is a self install diy. gtm is also making a supercharger for the 370z/g37.

the 07 g35 sedan is faster than the g37 on the low end. g37 will gain it back.

Yep I understand. Definately a factor.

I simply was very underwhelmed by it. I also think that my mods do help a bit. Car just feels so much stronger.

Or maybe it just seems like it was slower. You have a couple of sound enhancing mods that do change various performance curves at the same time. I would have to look at your intake again but if I remember this particular one correctly one reason I would consider it is that it adds a little bit of sound to the engine without negatively affecting the normal torque curve of the engine over pretty much the entire range and adds a little bit of punch at the top end. Some actually decrease performance compard to stock in some areas. So to me your intake probably doesn't really come into play that much in comparison.

Your exhaust on the other hand I think may have some characteristics very different from stock. And then there is the sound which always changes how we perceive performance. It would be interesting to have a dyno on a stock G37 and the same dyno done on yours for comparisons with a time set of factors recorded as well.
