Ethanol should be banned!

i have been spreading the word about ethanol for a year now to friends and family. it worsens fuel mileage and engine power output. so i send them to phillips 66 gas stations which have no ethanol. every single person that went on an empty tank to fill up there has immediatly noticed the gain in power and later noticed the longer distance to empty....
i have thought personally it was simply a ploy to get more tax dollars per gallon since you fill up sooner. lets say everyone in the country gets 2-3mpg less and has to fill up a day sooner. compound all of that and it equates to a HUGE amount of tax money.
i am for trying to go green, but in my mind, i see plug in electric cars and solar panels on the house as a better way to cut emissions. that is in fact my exact plan for my household once the nissan leaf comes out.

Ethanol arrived in Georgia in March 2008 and promptly starting killing injectors in my 92 Q45 -- other older Nissans have the same problem (and other car brands, boats, etc). G35/37 is designed to handle ethanol up to 10% concentration.
There's no such thing as ethanol free gas in Georgia since ethanol is required by law. All grades of gasoline are "up to 10%" ethanol, not just regular.
Corn is heavily subsidized by the US government and Obama is cozy with the corn lobby, so get used to it.

It seems the more liberal the state, the less chance one will be able to gas up with 100% gas. I don't recall the last time I saw a pump without a E10 sticker on it in NY. Our cars already don't have the greatest MPG and need premium gas, but with a 306 HP V6 I can live with that... knew this before I bought the G. What p-s me off that I am given no choice but to pay for yet another subsidy that makes no sense.

Unfortunately, many states have a requirement that all fuel be sold as an ethanol blend. Minnesota's wonderfully ignorant and stubborn governor has done all sorts of promoting it because of the local industry in corn-based ethanol.
in Minnesota, it's impossible to find ethanol free premium unless you're out in the boonies and even then, it's technically only legal for small engines, recreational vehicles and collectors cars. The drive out to the boonies to fill up would waste more than the inefficiency of the 10% ethanol blend unfortunately.

Sunoco in the East contains ethanol.
Shell premium is the only one w/o ethanol here & definitely the fuel of choice for my M Coupe.

Yeap, Shell premium here for me. Actually most shell stations posted the % of the ethanol in each grade. Premium being the only ethanol free. So they get my business.
