Don't listen to newg37. His numbers are all over the place. I don't know what he's thinking.

my numbers are straight off of kbb

and an 08 "msrp" w/15000 miles is $30,000... I paid $29,000 for 8 miles and it's 1 year younger with an engine upgrade AND moonroof.

w/30000mi and moonroof the msrp is still $29,000 which isn't "$3k savings" it's ZERO savings

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/Pric...177|33160|0|0|

and the trade in is correct as well. an 08 trade in is $23,700 now. So why wouldn't the 09s be the same price once 2010 comes out, or at least in the middle of 2010? Of course, mileage and condition is also something to consider.

KBB is just a guide. It doesn't buy or sell cars. I don't think I want to waste any more time w/ this topic.

KBB is the premier buying and selling guide... They quoted my trade in exactly the same value KBB said so I'd say it's extremely accurate.

bye guy

once the sales event ends.. that's what your car will be worth... no question. You could probably get more that now selling privately.

Assuming you actually have an infiniti G with an msrp of $42,000..

so why would you be happy to sell it for $34g, that's obviously the same price someone would have to pay for a new one now (if not more.) You would not make anything in fact you'd lose money because of sales tax.

Buyers remorse? Trouble making payments? Why would you want to let someone have your new car? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Yeah, who needs AWD anyway. Either that or you're just trying to find a ridiculously quote to prove some kind of "point."

anyway, I thought you were leaving?

Sorry, I cannot stop from posting when I see you said "I'd say it's extremely accurate" about the KBB numbers.

...Hmmm, I traded in 10 cars in the last 10 years and KBB is only about 50% reliable...really need to go this time.

newg37: Congrats on the G37 purchase !! I have a 2007 Black / Stone (grey Leather) - love it. I did get the prem package though.... For breaking 'er in: Mostly stick by the book, light on the brakes for the first 200-300 miles, get varying the speeds as best you can for the first 200 miles or so, BUT you don't have to be too delicate with it. The 3.5 and now the 3.7 V-6 engines in these cars, are one of the best in World. This car is meant to GO....Use the DS mode, use the manual shifting modes, the car does "learn" the way you drive in the response. Oh Yeah, I would recommend, particularly, since you own the car, what an old mechanic told me years ago, Change the oil and Filter after say the first 1,000 miles then every 3, 000 miles thereafter. Most break -in engine metal particles/shavings, will be removed after that first oil change. I don't know where you are, but if it's cold like here in NY, let 'er warm up for 1-2 minutes before driving off, easily for the first few miles...Good Luck !!
