Illuminated Kick Plates - Question

For those of you with these installed... When you open only one of the front doors, do both sides illuminate (drivers and pass) or does only the side that you open illuminate?

I disagree, my kickplate lighting seems to be tied to the interior dome lighting, they're not independent from one another.

i am pretty sure bot illuminate, with your interior lights switched off, open one door and i am pretty sure you can see the illumination on the other side(unopened door) as well through the gap between door and sill.
