They commented on how power steering had more assist at low speed and less at higher speeds. What they didn't like about it was they could notice while driving when it shifted from more assist to less assist mode and that this interfered with steering feel while driving. From way it was described, it changed suddenly, not progressively. To me this means PS operates in either hi assist or low assist mode. I am just guessing here but, maybe yours is stuck in low assist mode. Maybe there is a solenoid actuated valve on PS that allows more fluid to flow to PS, providing additional assist at low speed that is not working correctly on your car.
Review was by Edmunds.com. for a 2007 G35S, so Infiniti may have changed this for 2008. Link below.

Part of review I was referring to in my previous post is quoted below:
"Our only dynamic-handling complaint has to do with the G's steering. Ratio and feedback are right on, but the vehicle's speed-sensitive steering assist needs a little sorting. When the vehicle speed is changing rapidly up and down — like when you're charging a mountain road — changes in the assist are too radical and too slow to come, which can give the steering an artificial, video-game quality."

I noticed some stiffness in my 07 G35s with the adaptive headlights. I found that if I turned AFS off, the stiffness went away. Dunno if that helps you or not.

Thanks for the feedback... I will have it checked at the dealer next week. I do notice though, if after starting and I rev the engine a little, not hard, cold engine, I feel the steering at slow speeds is lighter aas it should be for parking, etc. Then it stiffens as the speed increases. Might be something to do with the PS pump, solenoid, fluid??

I think in 09 they changed the steering rack to one that adjust the steering rack ration as your speed changes.
