Thumbs up 2008 G35 S One tough car

I was driving on I 10 in Texas just east of Ft. Stockton on Dec 30 at about 10:00 PM when I ran over a dead deer. I was doing about 80 MPH and hit the dear right in the back with my driver side front tire as it was lying inthe road. The car went practically airborne, it hit so hard that the windshield wipers went on. Luckily I did not loose control. I kept driving for about 30 seconds to get my wits together but there was no noise and no warning lights on the dash. After I got situated I pulled over and got out. There was deer hair and blood in the front left wheel well but no other damage that I could see. It was dark so I was not sure. I got in and started driving slowley and did not feel or hear anything unusual. If you look at the map you will see that that part of I10 is in the middle of no where. So I did not want to get stuck there. After about a minute the low tire light came on so I pulled over again and noticed that the front left tire was a little low. I did not want to change a tire on the side of a highway in the middle of the night so I limped the 27 miles to Ft. Stockton slowley. By the time I got there there was still a little air in the tire but not much. Since Iwas running on fumes I filled up, by the time I finished fueling the car the tire was completely flat. So I changed the tire got a room and waited until the morning to find a tire store.
Found one tire store open but they did not have a 225/50 18, all they had was one 245/45 18 (a Nexen ?). Since it was Dec 31 I did not think I would get a tire delivered to Ft Stockton until the middle of the next week so I had them to put it on thinking I could get to El Paso and find a matching tire. No luck in El Paso, I had to wait until I got home to Tucson before I could find a matching tire.
The thing is, I hit that deer going 80 MPH and I don't think there is anything else wrong with the car, there was no body damage and the car sounded fine the rest of the way home, the allignment even seemed okay. the only thing was the Intelligent Cruise control sensor seemed to be a little skewed as it seemed to pick up cars in the other lane. Other than that I don't think anything else is wrong with the car. It is at the dealer now and they are looking it over.

I am impressed with this car.

Happy to hear that you are alright, I can't imagine too many people that hit a deer going 80mph get away without a scratch on themselves nevermind their cars.

Thumbs up

Just picked up the car from the dealer. No damage found, not even an alignment problem.

That's amazing you didn't have major damage or lose control. Great testament to the G.

Damn... my mom's 06 Yukon Denali hit the deer at 80mph direct head on and the front of the car was completely fvcked. I believe the repair cost from the bodyshop came out to be around 8g, but we only had to pay insurance deductible.

The car runs great. No shimmy or pulling left or right. I am getting ready to turn 60K on this car and it runs just like the day I bought it.

Anyone need an Nexen N3000 245/45 R18? Only 500 miles on it.
