G Tech Pro Meter
I'm thinking about getting the G Tech Pro SS Meter that measure horsepower, torque, 0-60, 0-100, etc..... Has anyone here bought one before and what are your impressions. Thanks.
I have the older version I bought back in '00 or so. Looks like this:

I like it for what it did, now there are lots to choose from (iPhone Apps, OBDII programmers, etc.). I used the one I have to measure 0-60 and lat. G's and results seemed like they were right. It seem to have problems with 60-0 braking distance, I think it had to do with not being able to measure the amount of dive. I bet they got a lot better over time with the newer versions. But for the price the SS sells for I think you could buy a iTouch and and have more functions than just a performance meter.

Sorry not to hi-jack the thread; but do you think it does a good job? Got a storm also, I didn't know the accelerometer was sensitive enough on Storms.

I don't think that's possible. You need to 3G coverage for the app to track has fast you went from point A to point B.
Isn't that the function of the accelerometer?
If i have to nitpick, it's probably having to do a sample run prior to actually measuring any data, otherwise the numbers will be off. (i.e. You can't just turn it on and start measuring.)

You got me. For some reason I was always under the assumption that you needed 3G coverage for any of those apps to work...can someone please clarify? I have an I-pod touch too, that would be great if no 3g service was necessary.
Dynostorm works exactly like the iPhone's app.
All you need is the accelerometer.
