New to me, 2007 G35x, IPOD/Map Lights
Hey,
I've recently gotten a 2007 G35x sedan and am loving it. I was disappointed to find out that it wasn't until the '08 models that an ipod hook up was included. However, I got around this with an RCA cable and charger from apple to plug into the center console. It works pretty well, but I can hear a high pitched buzzing sound whenever I use it. I don't think it's the car as other audio functions don't have this, unless its specifically the RCA input jacks. I thought also it could be the cable. I tried my iphone as well, which had the same buzzing sound. Not unlistenable, but certainly noticeable and a bit annoying.
Also, I want to replace the map lights and dome lights inside the car from the standard yellow lights to something brighter and less warm, like a white light. I've looked at some of the posts on this forum, but its still unclear if I can just replace the bulb or if it will be more difficult than that. Also, how exactly do you remove the casing for the lights? I'd hate to break something on the car just to swap out a damn light.
And lastly, the paint job is the slate blue color, which in my opinion is the sexiest color they have. I love the chrome accents on the car but think it would look even better if I could replace those with a darker tinted chrome. Does anyone know of a good place to buy something like this, for the grille and the infiniti symbols and the spoiler lip on the trunk, etc.?
Thanks, I appreciate any help.

Welcome to the forum.
For the RCA - search 'ground loop isolator' I had the same noise problem so I installed the Nissan iPod adapter rather than using the RCA's. http://www.g35parts.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=ipod
I think lots of people just replace the lights with bright white LEDs.
I don't know about the chrome.
Some more searching and you will find what you're looking for.
