The newer generation is better in really everything. For the guy who said you didnt notice anything, i think you need another test drive. Sure an old gen can be as fast as a stock second gen. But stock for stock, no way.

Seriously can you not read? You asked about the interior and EVERYONE replied with 2nd gen. This thread turned into a motor debate.

Which do you guys prefer? Why?

I figure the 03-06 model's interior is nice since you have the navigation and the radio separately and don't have to switch around. But, the 07-09 model's look more flush.

What do you think?
I think you need to look at the whole package and then decide.

IMO, one is as important as the other... while it's ideal to have reliable power at the gas pedal, you're spending a lot of money on a car here, and as an entry luxury car (luxury sport or not, it's still a luxury class), the interior shouldn't be neglected anymore, especially since you spend 99% of the time you spend with your car in the driver's seat.

And with that said, I don't like my driver's seat that much, but I like the way the dash looks, more specifically the way it kinda feels like you're sitting inside a cockpit when you get in, the navi placement, etc... more than the newer models. The leather could be better, and it could be more spacious for a luxury car with better feeling seats though... but I'd attribute that to the fact that this was the first Skyline to hit the States, and the Skyline was never much of a luxury car to begin with.

2nd gen blows the doors off the first Gen. 2nd is a slight bit heavier but not by much.

ranking fastest to slowest, stock to stock

3.7 fastest --coupe/sedan
3.5 HR sedan
DE coupe/sedan

If I was fresh to the G scene and looking to buy one the G sedan HR motor, will be my choice. Not only cause the motor but the interior is so much fresher, classier, and up to date compared to 03-06 coupes/sedans.

Speed wise:
3.7 sedan > 3.7 coupe = 3.5 HR > 3.5 DE. But not by much all are very close to one another

^ yep, I agree. No real point.
At least now RR knows his car is a little quicker than a stock 1st gen. That should make him feel warm and fuzzy.

Isn't the 0-60 diffrence from the 2003–2006 and the 07-08 like 3 tenths?

lol, good to know guys. I read somewhere that the 1st gen was 200 lbs lighter and that made up for the hp increase but I guess i was misinformed.

i just don't know though. I mean, the car isn't slow, but I just don't know if I really don't feel like I have all 306 horses there.

I mean my vr4 was had 300hp/307lbs and weighed 3800. I honestly felt the G's of the car pinning me in my seat more more then my G35. Maybe I'm not completly used to the clutch (I use to have an aftermarket clutch that engaged way sooner), or perhapes my ECU needs to be reset. (I really am ingnorant to what this would do, I just was reading about it on other threads)

what do you all think?

You probably got that mixed up with the 37 coupe being ~200 lbs heavier so the extra 26 horses don't give it an edge against the HR sedan.
