Need advice with a squeeking sound

Hey All,
I know it will be hard to identify where a sound is coming from but i have a 2007 G35X and have been experiencing a sound that sounds like a hamster wheel.. it happens when im driving and idle...

I took my car in to the dealer today today to get my 30000 mile maintanence as well get the TSB about difficulty filling gas tanks applied... I had them check on the sound, too.

They told me that sound was not coming from any belts and that they thought it was coming from the front passangers side of my car.
I'm the second owner of this car and apparently the first owner had gotten some body work done (that did not show up on the carfax).. They determined it because the bolt behind the door hinge was apparently not an infiniti bolt...

At that point, they determined that the sound was coming from the body was not conered under warranty because of the repair work that had been done.

My question is.. does it make sense that the body would make the kind of squeek i described even when idling? i can understand metal on metal rubbing when a car is moving, but i guess i dont know enough about cars to understand the current situation.

Does anyone have any other ideas of where the sound could be from?

Lastly, whats the best next step in getting this issue resolved?

Thanks for your time and advice!

Well im in a bit of hurry but i can tell you that if its happening on idle around 700rpm then it probably isnt the body making the noise, it could be exhaust, intake, engine related problem.

OP,

Try and pin point the sound yourself. Park your ride in a quite place, pop the hood, and just listen. Also, 900 idle is kinda high. I had a similar issue when I put my Stillen Gen 3 intakes on with first heavy snow. I went in to dealer and at first they tried telling me thats normal. I told em bull**** and we confirmed on a new model. My idle still fluctuates around 900 sometimes but eventually settles at 750 now. Have them reset it. BTW, I have an 07 G35x as well.

Thank you for your reply, too! I don't know as much about cars as i should and to be honest.. ive only tried to locate the noise while inside the vehicle.. ill try popping the hood and see if i can locate it. its pretty foolish of me not to have thought of that on my own.

as far as the RPM, ill keep an eye on that, too.. thanks for the great advice!
