Getting different answers on this? G35 Sport

I have the G35 Sedan with Sport / Premium package. Does the sport model have bigger disc brakes and different springs which make the sport model sit lower?
Thanks

Brakes, yes.
Suspension, it's "sport tuned," and the rest is debatable.

Bigger brakes, yes.

Are you comparing Sport to Journey or X? I'm pretty sure that Sport and Journey have different rollbars and different shocks, but same springs. Sport/Journey sit at the same height. The X is higher than Sport/Journey and I *think* the X suspension identical to the Journey, except for the springs.

The sports has larger single piston front calipers while x and journey has smaller dual piston brake setup

Would you share some thoughts comparing the Max to the G?

I had a slightly modded 5.5 gen before and buck-for-buck, the G is certainly more composed, has more features and overall performs better. It is noticeably smaller than the Maxima, however, both in cabin and trunk space.

My Max did handle better in transitions, modded, than the G in stock form -- which is understandable. The G has just a tad bit too much roll but is certainly nothing that can't be fixed.

Reliability-wise, i would expect the same out of the G as the 125k mile Maxima... just a couple of TSB's here/there, a recall at times and regular maintenance.

Soundmike clearly has no idea what he's talking about...

j/k, he and I had the same car and know each other from maxima.com. To make a long story short, comparing my very lightly modded 5.5 gen Max (sway bar and FTSB):
  • The rest of the Max really couldn't keep up with the engine. It spun the FWD tires easily, was big in turns, and the brakes weren't up to any realistic driving
  • The cabin and trunk were larger (helpfully so), and the rear seats folded down
  • Suspension was softer, so it was more...plush

From my perspective, the G is superior in almost all ways

It's .Org you. (hey, two can play this game, although i think i'll lose eventually).

Seriously though, i agree with all of the assessments above. I hear the 7th gen is much better than the 5.5 gens what with the IRS now comparable to the G, but the TS and CVT really doesn't do the Maxima any justice.

I was dropped on the Max so it wasn't plush for me at all, in fact i dreaded the solid rear beam when hitting bumps mid-corner. It's great for smooth roads, though.

Having the 09 Max Sport before the G35, I would say;
First let me say that both cars are fine automobiles!!
Max leather seats seem better (stiffer IMO) overall
Max had a little more room around the cockpit
My Max had a heated steering wheel (useless down here in the south)
Max had 19" wheels (sport model)
G has move power
G sits lower to the ground
G is RWD
G is sleeker
G handles better in the twistier
G turns heads and carries its badge with pride.
G has more mod options
Infiniti just sounds better than Nissan lol

Honest, both are nice. If you are looking for more sport out of the two, go with the G.
I just could not get use to the FWD!
