Getting my car sponsored
So whats the REAL DEAL with Sponsoredwhips.com. I was waisting some time at work the other day and came across sponsoredwhips.com. Looked interesting so I filled out the online questionnaire to see what they were all about. For the last two days a guy has been calling me so I finally called him back today. He asked a little about my car and then said ok so I want your car. Can you meet me at Kroger on S. Cobb in 30 minutes. I thought he just wanted to see it in person, then he said bring $199 with you or a money order made out to sponsoredwhips.com.
Now I have never been one to just hand out money to some one or even a company without knowing what I am getting in return. I told him to slow up a bit and tell me a little about what I would be getting. He told me I could get any modification I would want from Brakes to a new engine. Didn't matter, only that I would help promote the products (without having to fill a quota limit of appearances). I told him it sounded too good to be true and that I was actually out of town at the moment anyway and wouldn't be able to meet him. He said well then I will give you the address to send a money order to Sponsoredwhips.com and we can get started. I still don't know the guys name. I told him I would need something in writing and that I wasn't going to send a stranger money without knowing more details. After I said that, he said "OK never mind then!" and just hung up.
Are they legit? Are they that important to the world that they don't need to try and sell me on their company? Whats the Deal?

I got a flyer left on my car from them, or a similar company with the same tactic, at a car show. Once I went to the site and saw they wanted money up front I dropped it. The cars I saw on the site weren't that impressive anyway. I also wasn't convinced that they could get the type of parts that I wanted. A lot of the stuff I'd like to do would be custom anyway, doubt they would pay for stuff like that.
Anybody ever dealt with companies like this?
