Have to choose between buying a 2007 G35 or G35S
Hi everyone,
First post here on g35driver. I've been reading A LOT about the G and everyone seems really happy. I'll be moving from a Mazda Protege I've had since 2001!
So, directors and VPs at the company I work for have lease allowances for cars. Any employee has the right to buy the cars when the leases are up. The leasing companies sell for a little less than current market ($2000 - $3500 less in CAD).
There are two Gs available, both 2007. One is the G35 and the other is the Sport.
I spoke to the regular G owner. She drives it to and from work only and is just reaching 40,000km! She says she babies it, no kids ever in the car, her husband washes it by hand more than once a week and the only damage is on the bottom of the driver door where it clipped a sidewalk once. She would buy it herself but her daughter's wedding needs to be paid for, heh. ;-) So this car was definitely babied.
The other is a G35S automatic. I haven't found out how he drives it yet, I don't yet know the mileage, I see he has a car seat in there and uses it to move his family around. This one doesn't seem like it was babied.
The regular G will be available in September and the S will be available in June.
Now my questions to the community are:
1- I've read about the difference between the G35 and the G35S but those are just the specs. Would I really feel a noticeable difference between the two? Will the tweaked brakes, suspension, stability and limited slip make a difference I would regret if I turned away from the S? Would traction be able to compensate when there's no limited slip?
2- If mileage on the S is in the 70,000km range, the car was driven hard and is in a worse overall condition, is it still worth taking over the regular G35?
I think that's it for now. Hope you guys can help!

I think I have my answer on the question of the LSD (http://sportcompactcar.automotive.co...issan-lsd.html).
I am still curious if there is enough reason to consider the S if it is worn harder than the regular G.

^+1 if the S has been driven hard and has 30k more in miles i would just go with the regular G which has the same engine/power and the just upgrade the sway bars and be a happy camper!
The G35S is an AT with sport shifter and paddle shifter if there is a really large difference between the condition of the vehicles go for the better condition one. If the condition between the two is pretty similar go for the sport
Thanks for all the help gents.
I just heard back from the S owner. He said the car was beaten up by him and *three* other people before it got to him!
Creampuff it is LOL! See y'all in September!
