yeah.. strange that the price difference is so high. the only thing was.. the key ring they put on it.. was a normal thin keyring and not one of the infiniti clip ones that i got with my factory keys.

I bought an extra off eBay for $40 as my secondary because only 1 key fob came with it. I have forgot to get it programmed though, and need to badly in FL my local Nissan dealership said $89 to programm. You have to have the Consult type II in order to do it but in your case I'd do what sounds the safest and most obvious thing to do...re-cut, re program new key, what a pain in the a$$, I know, I can imagine.

 

buy a key fob and blank off of ebay (make sure it's the non-recalled version) and then call around to area infiniti's and Nissan's and ask for how much to program and change the code for you old and new keys.

i found an area nissan that only charged me $50 to program and cut my ebay-bought remote and blank key.

Just in case you decide to go the ebay route and are wondering about whether or not you are getting a "non-recalled" version, here's an easy thing to ask the seller:
What kind of shape (if any) is directly to the right of the barcode square (circles, plus-sign, nothing)?

According to the recall notice ITB07-026a, the old recalled intelligent keys are marked with a plus-sign or are blank, where the new versions have concentric circles.
