shudder over 80 miles

shudder over 80 miles

my steering wheel shudders at over 80 mph and stops at 90....dealer said i needd to balance my tires but im just trying to cover all my bases in case the dealership is wrong....which they are 90 percent of the time

It's usually a tire balance issue and on the rare occasion a drive-shaft issue.

Ask your dealer to perform a road-force balance which is more accurate than traditional balancing.

^ like they said it is 90% likely to be the a wrongly balanced wheel, then check the alignment if that doesnt fix the issue, then the steering rack (but in the latter 2 cases you would feel the "shudder" throughout and not at certain speeds i believe).

could be because if wheel balance, irregular tire wear, alignment

If none of these things, could be a tie rod issue (had this happen in my Altima)

EDIT: just noticed that shrudder stops at 90 MPH - tie rod not likely then

If it was your tie rod you would get Shudder or vibrations at any speeds.
