Installed the stealthcord and blendmount...I recommend!

just installed the stealthcord kit and blendmount kit for my passport 8500 x50 radar. I highly recommend. Very simple to install. No more rattling, no more cord dangling, no more suction cup marks, no more falling off in the heat.

Just thought I would share...

Looks good. Where did you get the mount, how hard was it to install and how much did it cost?

blendmount is sold only though MGT Motorsports. Kind of pricey at $70 but its made of quality materials, and is SOLID. There are cheaper mounts out there but from what I hear, they rattle. I could not be happier with this set up. Stealthcords even has the G35 sedan install. Literally plug in two probes into the mirror harness. The mount comes with everything you need to install. its just hex bolts and they include the hex key. There are 3 different adjustment points and just takes time for alignment. These are a 15min install TOPS.

yes, a little pricey, but I could not be happier. Solid as a rock and blends in perfectly.

I have been thinking out this for some time, and the one from MGT seems more robust than what I have seen in the past. I have one quick question.... How easy is it to take the radar detector down? What about installing it in another car?

I usually take my wife's car on long road trips, and I need the ability to somewhat easily put my radar detector in her car from time-to-time....

it uses the original escort mount so its a quick release still. Just unplug and release.

The mount itself is secured by 2 hex screws. so really, if you have the key you can do the swap in 5min. It just the positioning part that takes the most time. Or you do what I do and keep the smart cord in the glovebox for when I need to take the passport somewhere temporarily.

Ok, thanks. That is not much of an issue. I have about 10 sets of allen/hex tools. It is also maybe only once a month that I would need to move it over and back, so it is not that big of a deal....

I too have the Mikes Mount/Invisicord combo and love it. Definitely one of my favorite mods and it doesn't rattle.

I like how they have mounts for controllers too, but $60-80 is a bit steep...
