Changing of Intelligent Key Settings/Consult III system

So this may be a no brainer but i wanted to ask anyway...in looking at the shop manual it appears that the intelligent key settings can be changed somewhat, and even that you can change an internal setting to allow the engine to start remotely via the i-key. (this is taken from page 52 of the DLK manual).

has anyone had any success of getting into these settings or is this all required to be done by a dealer with a consult III system? because i would *love* to have a remote start option turned on....especially since i heard some dealerships were charging alot for this.

thanks in advance,

Bob

**edit***

i think i misread this. i believe its just the permissive to allow the car to start by identifying the key. although i know that some dealerships integrate remote start into the iKey, but be the normal way lol. oh well....we can dream....
