Sounds like many people here push the maintenance on belts and auto transmission back to 60k miles while the guide says 30k :-|

Any negative comment?

 

Belts can be inspected visually for any cracking/fraying - but one person here had it fray completely in the car around 35K or so which scared me - I replaced mine at 40K (was told the original belt was fine, but replaced it anyway). Most here are still on their original belts and are pushing 50K+.

Would drain/fill transmission (draining up to 4-5 quarts of ATF) at ~30K, and do a complete flush at 60K. Waiting until 60K without replacing _some_ of the fluid is pushing it IMHO.

 

I was having a few morning squeaks from stock belt so I changed mine at about 32K. I can't believe someone had to pay $193 for dealer for that. I only paid about $30-$40 for stock belt. Install is relatively easy but I realize not everyone has the tools, time or comfort in doing this themselves.

 

Phalanx - You're quoting the premium schedule, fine if that's what you want to do, but not required. Schedule 1 is what's required for most of us. The answer to this post and so many posts is - read the manual.

 

i work for an infiniti dealer here in arizona. pretty much all of the k services they charge for are way overpriced. i have noticed that the drivebelt tends to last about 60 to 70k depending on the car and how hard you are on the car. i have 48k on my car right now and the belt still almost looks new. the belt is very easy to change all it requires is a 3/8 ratchet and about 30 minutes of your time. 193 dollars is rediculous considering if you have a lift and the right tools it takes 15 minutes to change it out. if there is anyone in tucson, az that needs any work done on their infiniti pm me.

 

I am just about at 30k on my 08 sedan. I would never spend that much on a 30k service. I'll do the work myself. The cabin air filter in my car is already clean. I just stuck a powerful vacuum cleaner to it and it's white again. Since i work in my engine bay a lot i inspect my belt to make sure there is no crack in them. But if 60-70k is the ideal change out time then i don't need to worry then.
