Smile Gone to the "Darkside" BMW

Well I have owned 3 G35's; 2003, 2005X, 2007X and now wanting something different I purchased a 2010 BMW 335xi sedan.

I still think Infiniti is an awesome vehicle but since I change about every 2 years and nothing too much has changed in the look of the G35 (G37) body style I did not want to buy a 2010 that looked almost identical to my 2007 so I went for the bimmer.

It is full load every option including Nav, sport package (18" wheels) and complete BMW winter tire & rim set up.

Quick thoughts so far versus G35 is it is tighter handling (which might not be for everyone), smaller with less interior storage spaces, a little quicker and all thou the 3 series are everywhere, not many 335's around whereas everywhere I look are G35/37's in my city.

My next move from this might be the new M37X but people say once you drive a BMW you can't go to anything else and I am feeling that as well.

Lastly this is an awesome forum with tons of great postings and information and want to thank everyone for all the efforts people put into helping each other with ideas and solutions to questions.

Might be back one day............ and take care.

congrats. bimmers are a very different beast, im sure you'll enjoy it (a little more refined, a little less raw). maybe come back when more performancy Gs come out. If i had the funds, i would probably have gone to a 335 too haha.

I personally wouldn't mind a 335 coupe. Infiniti... BMW... a great car is a great car. Congrats!

Yes a little more money than the G's so probably if you are talking value Infiniti would win.

I was teetering between the G and a CPO 328i manual/sport and went with the G. I still have a little pang every time I see a e9x bmw on the road.

They are great cars if you can afford to trade them in or sell them before the warranty expires. I drive about 25k a year so I can't really do that and my BMW mechanic (I have a 2002 330i) told me I would be crazy to drive one of the new ones out of warranty.

It's true about driving something else...it's really hard to drive even the g35S after driving a BMW for a few years. My 330i has 131k miles on it and it's almost as good as my 23k mile G. They are amazing cars if you can afford to maintain them.

My G rides almost identically to my 330i with sport package but it tracks better in curves. I am kind of glad I didn't test drive a newer BMW--I've heard they handle even better than the e46 did. Good luck, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I still prefer the styling of the G over the more generic BMW.
Congratulations on your new ride. I test drove one in 07 when I chose the G. It is a great 'drivers' car no question.
I simply needed the extra little bit of space in the G and appreciate the value as you mentioned.

Now that my X is an inch lower it is a whole different handling car. They made them a bit too high.

Watch out for that HPFP issue. I really want a 335i, but that one scares me, considering they haven't got it fixed yet.
