front passenger door rattle
front passenger door rattle
Hi all,
This is my first post here. Bought my 07 g35s 6mt about a month ago. I am experiencing a door rattle, like a lot of you here. My rattle happens only when I play loud based up music. It comes from the front passenger door (sedan). If I place my hand where I hear the rattle coming from it stops the rattle. It sounds like it is coming from the outlined area in red in the picture I attached. Window up or down has no effect. Only different frequencies from the base. I am sure I am going to have to take the door panel off, I just thought someone else might have experienced this specific rattle, as I know there have been many rattle problems. Any help is greatly appreciated g35 drivers.

First of all...Welcome to the forum
I think you have wisely concluded what to do on your own. The only way is to remove the door panel and tighten things up a bit and see if that does the trick.
Or, alternatively, don't listen to music with booming bass, but I assume that is not an option.
There are threads in the DIY section on how to remove the door panels ect.

Thank you.
I sort of figured I would end up having to take the panel off. Since the rattle seems to be coming from the trim piece or panel itself, I thought I might avoid it. Oh well. I will start trying to find a good DIY for an 07 sedan front passenger door panel.

I had this same exact problem, and the dealer fixed the issue by applying "foam tape around the contact points of the door panel and the speaker covers". Now no rattles on the passenger-side door panel and the bass sounds more crisp and clear. Im gonna have them do al the odor panels with this "foam tape".

Talk to the dealer. They helped me with this issue. They insulated everything and there are no more rattles, even under the loudest music conditions or when driving on bumpy roads. See if they will help you first before you DIY.

135 PER door...haha. That's ridiculous. It's this one plastic part that probably costs like 5 dollars. Insane! And I love the term stealership, that's good stuff!
I mean, for a DIYer, you could just remove the panel that is chipped, sand it done and repaint it. That was my back up plan if the dealership tried to screw me.
