I'm approaching 60K miles and an extended warranty has been mentioned. Is this a rip-off? (like the rip-off electronic warranties they're always trying to get you to buy at BestBuy, etc.) I just had to have some control panel replaced after my ignition was going haywire. (wouldn't turn off sometimes, wouldn't turn on other times) That probably would have cost a pretty penny if I had to pay for it.
Thoughts?

 

Depends on the price.

When I bought my car dealer offered 7y/100k for $2500. I said no. Then they offered the same thing for $1250 w/$100 deductible. I said yes. I keep cars until they fall apart, so it's worth it for me.
