"With that said I don't think they will total my car because it's worth about k30 from what I have heard."

Again, sorry for the negativity, but are you saying your car is worth 30 thousand dollars? Assuming that's an '08, I'm a bit confused. Unless you're saying you insured the mods as well...

Anyways, good luck.

Well I spoke to my attorney who is taking care of it and she said she doubts it will be totaled because of it's high value. She said they would use KBB so I checked and it showed me something like 29,800. And this isn't including all of the features. My car is an 07 but its completely loaded, very well maintained and has a rare color combo. And I will be paid for all the modded parts if the car is totaled.

Thanks for the good will bro. But please don't think I was trying to BS about the price and make myself look cool like some ricers do lol. I don't know what the actual value of the car would end up becoming I just checked on KBB and that's what it told me

Oh, never heard of an insurance company reimbursing for mods before. Good for you if they do.

Also, which do you select on KBB, because mine shows in the low 27s (retail value) and I can't see what would cause the difference?

Oh well, again good luck with everything.

Ouch. Atleast you stopped him before someone else did and they weren't in as safe of car.

Is it possible Gevo1 has some type of 'replacement value' added to his insurance policy.
I know I do. If anything major happens to the vehicle, to write it off, my insurance replaces the car with the newest model with equivalent options.
That could be why they want to fix it and are over evaluating it...so they can get out of buying him a 2010.

Not to belabor the topic, but replacing with equivalent options, sure, but modifications (as in exhaust, rims, etc...)?

Unless you specifically told the insurance company about them and therefore pay more in insurance for it, would they really reimburse you for it?

I select suggested retail value. And yes when my brother got into an accident with his truck, it wasn't his fault and his car ended up totaled. So the insurance company paid for everything he had added to the car like the stereo, seats, even the tires since they were offroading tires.

if you get paid from the car that hit you, then they have to pay for everything, mods & all, if you get paid from your own company, then aside from deducting your deductible they could also refuse to pay for additional mods unless you added a Ryder to your policy for these mods... either way that car is not totaled though, 2 new quarter panels & a rear body panel, tailights & a lid... bumper cover etc, probably not much more than 12k if that in damages, totaled needs to see at least 70% value in damages depending on the insurance co...

i got into an accident a long time back in my old mitsu not at fault and the insurance company paid for my add on aftermarket exhaust, 1 rear rim and AM spoiler.

It really depends on the insurance company and agent. Good luck.
