Disabling VDC
Disabling VDC
For some reason whenever I disable the VDC is still seems to retard my fun when the backend starts to get squirrelly.
This is my 3rd car now with VDC and each of the previous completely disabled when hitting the button. Am I missing a step with the G?

In the owners manual:
The VDC system uses an Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) function to improve vehicle traction. The ABLS system works when one of the driving wheels is spinning on a slippery surface. The ABLS system brakes the spinning wheel, which distributes the driving power to the other drive wheel. If the vehicle is operated with the VDC system turned off, all VDC system and TCS functions will be turned off. The ABLS system and ABS will still operate with the VDC system off. If the ABLS system or ABS is activated, the SLIP indicator light will blink and you may hear a clunk noise and/or feel a pulsation in the brake pedal. This is normal and is not an indication of a malfunction.

It's a lot more fun to drive a rear wheel car when you can control the rear with throttle.
Oddly enough, I have found video of someone taking the G through a turn sideways while reviewing it.
You can turn it off, just hit the button. If you have a squirmy back-end with it off, something else is amiss.
ABS and ABLS != VDC, although it is used in combination with the TCS to comprise the entire VDC system.

Forget pulling the fuse. You need to take off the center console and access the Bosch yaw sensor in there. Just unplug it and it will fully disable VDC while still retain ABS functions.. this sensor controls the ABLS functions. Disconnecting it will allow you full control of the car with no intervention.
^^theres also a mod you can install that will keep the VDC and YAW off at all times unless you press the button to activate it.
Anyone remember who offers this product? KP technologies maybe?

i read it was just a toggle button or switch spliced into the yaw sensor you can DIY. didnt know there was a kit
also( i dont reccomend it but it works) if you make the yaw sensor go crazy by say doing a few doughnuts it will shut down the yaw sensor vdc off and slip lights will stay on. VDC is no completely off while retaining all other functions. the vdc will stay off until you restart the car. after restarting the car it will be back to normal. i did read that if you do that it will shut the engine down after a while but never happened to me.
but once you turn the car back on its all back to normal.

There's no kit for the yaw sensor. The KPT kit simply keeps the regular VDC on/off button off even after you shut off the engine.
Some day I'm gonna wire a toggle switch and use the empty button spot next to the VDC to mount it.
