I want to tint my car and not sure what brand to choose. I would like a ceramic film. So far I have had quotes for Huper Optik, Madico, and FormulaOne. The lowest price I got quoted for was Madico for $265. What brand is best for the money? And what do guys think about ceramic films?

I got the Madico Charcool 20% for 160 (rear passenger and rear windows only.) It really depends; mine carried a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, discoloration. Mine is not ceramic, but my navigation and radio are not interrupted nor have any problem with the film.

I guess it also depends on the shade of tint. Some of them have a greenish haze, or a bluish haze...

I'm happy with my Madico Charcool tints. The ceramic films I heard are the best, but they cost a lot more.

Formula One here, used it on every vehicle i've owned. The oldest has 9 years on its belt -- no fade, no bubbles, no scratches.

Some say the metallic tings hinder nav/phone signals in the G, but like mathnerd88 i haven't experienced this issue either.

Do note, the G has a "green" tint from the factory. So depending on the tint you'll end up installing, it will contribute slightly to the overall tint % and final color.

I just got another quote for Geoshield DarkMatter ceramic films for $224. I called up Geoshield and they stated that their films are comparable to Huper Optik although Geoshield is slightly easier to put on for installers. I think I'm going with Geoshield. Huper Optik is way overpriced.

Madico (not sure of product name) 55% for $180 in Charleston, SC. You shouldn't have to pay more than $200 for tinting a sedan.

I have Lumar on my G. I believe Formula 1 is Lumar's upscale line. I'm too lazy to google it so you can if you care.

I had formulaone ceramic tint installed last June. Check out my thread:
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...inted-g35.html

I got a lot of comments about paying too much. Another shop was quoting $400 for huper optic. I like my G, and I wanted a professional job. And thats what I paid for.

That's about normal for that kind of tint from a reputable manufacturer, IMHO. People tend to start comparing apples to oranges. Not all film is made the same.

Ceramic tint here as well but I went with Geoshield. I have had it on for just about two years now, I couldn't be happier with it!
