Hey guys,
Im new here and want to upgrade from an RSX type-S. I found a G35x at carmax that has caught my eye and I have got a couple questions regarding the optional packages that came with the 2008

I am looking at this car here

The ad states this car has sports package, premium package, and journey package as well as navigation.

What exactly comes with sports package? premium package? and journey package?


I just want to be aware of what to look for to verify this car has those packages and carmax just didnt put false info in the ad in hopes to sell it more quick... I want to get what the ad states and what I pay for.


My RSX-S is paid off and between the trade in value and my down payment, its very possible I can have the G paid off in a year which is real appealing to me, plus the G has low miles.


One more thing, where is a good site to buy OEM infiniti parts. Im thinking about switching out the floor carpet to black if I grab the car.

 

It does indeed have the sport and premium packages. You could only get these on the journey model...so the answer to your question is they are correct. You should search for what is all in the packages, but here is a quick rundown (from memory)

Sport - upgraded wheels, sport seats, sport front bumper, paddle shifters, lsd, upgraded brakes (since this is an xS, you dont get the new brake package that was added on the sendans from the coupe in 2008), I cant remember if the xS suspension is the same or not...
Premium - sunroof, bose stereo, heated seats, homelink, bluetooth, usb
Navigation - also came with backup camera

Also, that is stone interior (very light gray, almost cream colored to me). The tan interior is referred to as wheat and wasnt available on cars with the Sport package.
I could be forgetting a couple things (since I have an 07 and they made some minor tweaks for 2008).

Nice car... just like mine less tinted windows. You probably don't have to worry about it selling quick, the price they are asking is about 2 to 3K too high compared to what they sell here (Indiana) at non Infinity dealers for, and at Carmax they will not haggle. I hope they give you real good money for your trade to make up the difference. Personally I have never been able to deal with Carmax... Good luck.

IF you do end up buying your car from carmax, do not let them detail your car. The Mar and ruin the finish big time.

 

exactly the same deal I got, '08G35xS black on black, mine had 25k miles and was more than 2 grand less after all the haggling here in MPLS area. Plus got 100,000/6 year warranty out of the deal, so do you homework.

 

^ thats the + for shopping on the outside market since carmax does not haggle at all, but the +s for carmax is no headaches and a good 30day warranty they actually honor(experience from my friends GX470)
