Last night, I noticed 3 deep scratches on my rear bumper while I was out. Someone obviously backed into my g35. Of course, no note. The scratches are too deep to buff out. So, I'm going to have to get the bumper repainted. Anyone know how much this will cost? Any good body shop in the DFW mid cities area?

Same exact **** happened to me while I was at the bar like a month ago. I've been trying to tell myself "it's not bad" but I hate the fact that the car was flawless and now I have these two deep scratches on my rear bumper. And, if I could find someone in NJ to repaint my bumper for $200 I'd do it in a heart beat.

If you just want it painted, it probably is around 300 bucks. However, the paint may not match correctly, so be prepared to pay around 400 if you want the paint to match 99%...

Make sure after it's done that you look at the paint differences closely (near, far, in sunlight, in shade). Make sure the paint matches correctly and ask for them to do it again if it doesn't.
It's really annoying to try to get the paint to match because most of the time, you can tell if something has been repainted in the car.

I had the dealer repaint my bumper because of them scratching up my bumper, and the paint doesn't match in all lighting conditions. I have platinum/diamond graphite on my car. When my car is in the shade, I can definitely tell a difference in paint.

Thanks - I'm about to make some calls now. While I'm at a paint shop, I may have the front grill painted. Is flat black what others have been doing?

For the front grill it's either flat black or glossy black. It really depends on what you like. The glossy black makes the grill seem like it came from the factory like that.

You should also pull the cover and make sure there is no damage to the energy absorbing foam beneath. If it's dented up, replace it.

I guess that would depend on personal preference along with the exterior color of your car. For me, I prefer Matte Black.

I did quote from a dealer, and the bill would be near 600 for a paint job on a bumper... just an FYI....

Service King quoted $436. I'm going to see what bondo, wet sanding, touch up paint, and polish can do. If that doesn't turn out well, then I'm going to have the bumper repainted.

This is what happened to my front end a week ago. Dented panel, and scratched up bumper. My bad for the night pics. But, i got a $500 estimate to have the dent taken out, and the bumper/panel repainted. However, he said they dont paint the whole bumper/panel, only half of it.

For $500...good or bad?
