Stealership win! A must read for any infiniti owner

ok so i stopped into massapequa infiniti for a tpms sensor for my new wheels, and while i was there i happen to stop into the service department to have them check out my steering wheel for the paint chipping. now i happen to preemptively call corporate about the problem and to let them know that thanks to the power of these forums i found that other members were getting their steering wheels replaced for the same problem. well at first they tried to tell me that they would repair it with touch up paint but i wasnt taking that for an answer to i told them that i had called corporate and they can check the records. the minute they sat down and looked i think it took 30 seconds for the service manager to call parts and say " order this guy a steering wheel asap"

he then proceeded to come out with about half the service department and parts department and check out my car. very impressed with the tint work and paint work, the wheels and suspension we got into a brief conversation about the transmission and the problems i was having. i went on to tell him about how i was coming in for a tranny fluid flush and that i was hoping it would help with the jerk i had been feeling. OOOOKKKKK HERE IS THE GOOD PART!!!! within a 5 minute conversation he had went onto tell me how they were having problems with tons of transmissions and it wasnt just my year but the 7AT's as well. so after that i was told bring it in for the steering wheel on monday and that i would have a loaner car a free tranny flush and that i would have my valvebody replaced if deemed necessary and reflashed with a new ecu version that was released.

now im sure that it helped i called corporate prior and let them know that i was very upset with what was going on and that i expected a brand new tranny if there was a serious issue that couldnt be fixed. i also let them know that i was all over the forums and this could be very damaging to there sales....

this is undisclosed and off the record but i have knowledge that this too was in the notes from corporate when looked up on the local dealership records.

this proves knowledge is power and very effective.... thank you to all the forums and unlimited knowledge on here

Sweet

It sounds like your service department is pretty good and is willing to support current customers.

Yeah you would think that Dealers/Infiniti Executives would check out these forums more often, they could come up with design/marketing/improvement ideas all the time if they just listened.

Glad your happy.

Nicely done! Sounds like a good combo of forum smarts, pre-emptive corporate calling, and a "don't bs me" attitude went in your favor. KUDOS!

I actually just posted on your thread at myg37. I swear the transmission jerking problem is not normal, but they claim it to be.

good for you bro, when i went to the service at infiniti of massapequa for a blown brake fuse i was charged $265 because they blamed it on the "badly" installed spoiler which was BS.

^ did you try the DIY reprogramming from the G37 forum?? its worked for quite a few, the hardest part seems to be the timing, but worth trying it a few times if you can save $145!!

John, im glad it worked out for you. But I also called Infiniti corporate and they refused to replace any of my peeling trim. The rep basically told me they will not cover it and I cannot escalate the issue any further.

Glad to see someone stepped up at Infiniti for you.

I'm glad you are happy and everything has worked out in your favor. Orlando Infiniti is really cooperative as well. I just got done with almost every TSB out there that can be applied to the 07+. There was minimal chipping on my steering wheel but before my warranty was up I decided to just chip it a bit myself and got it replaced . The service report said ~$1200 and you know damn well we aren't paying that after warranty to get fixed so why not. They also re surfaced the rotors and added a heat shield because I told them about the brake judder while braking at highway speeds, which was rather minimal if at all but can rather get it done under warranty while you can.

On another thread I remember reading that a member got the dealership to programming another key fob he bought off eBay and claimed that it just stopped working, it was synced anymore. Now my service department was unable to bit this bullet but I think it was because I didn't have it cut before I went in there so they kind of knew? I'm not sure.

How many miles usually til you need to do a tranny flush, a lot I thought?

I'm just curious to if a majority of the transmission problems were due to flushing of the transmissions with the aftermarket, ie. BG, systems and NOT per the FSM..

^ Hey Instead of calling, Write a well written letter and in that letter state that you will be sending it to both the (insert dealer name, Service Manager) and Infiniti of North America.

Write out wtf is going on, and Mail them out. Since the dealer was alerted and knows you sent the same letter to Infiniti of North America. As well as Infiniti Of North America knows you sent the same letter to the dealer. You made a paper trail.

I am pretty sure at this point You will get a call with in 2 weeks stating to come and get everything fixed.

Worked with in a week for me. The Service Manager wanted to make sure everything I said was taken care off. I brought up the compression rods and the tech said that he did not hear anything. While I was talking with the Service Manager. I said come with me lets go for a ride, he just said its fine we will order it no problem.
