CD Changer Problems

Since this a prevalent issue with Nissans and Infinitis of the last decade, just wanted to throw out a possible fix to try. This may be the 'go to' repair attempt but it worked in my case.

My CD changer had no CDs loaded (I use the iPod I/F only) but I went to test a CD I burned for a cohort and the CD changer got locked in a vicious 'Please Eject Disc/Ejecting Disc' cycle of death...No action from the LOAD button either.

Before I ran this to our rather 'questionable' local Infiniti dealer, I pulled the 15 amp Audio fuse located in the small fuse box in the battery compartment. The key seemed to be leaving it out for an extended period (overnight in my case).

Reinserted the fuse in the a.m. and let the CD changer cycle through it's backlog of commands and all was good. I could load, eject, play discs as normal. I'll confirm down the road if this is a permanent fix in my case. Pulling this fuse kills the display, audio and climate controls but doesn't even lose your presets on the radio or any other preset functions.

That's a big reason I got an extended warranty! I figure it's going to fail at least once over 7 yrs/100K miles.

Lol...Infiniti got rid of the CD changer because CDs are dying out and MP3 downloads are taking its place...plus more trunk space.
