Another new owner here....

Two weeks ago my wife had just finished dropping off the kids (thankfully) when some moron decides to run a red light.

Luckily, my wife came away unscathed but our beloved '05 FX35 was destroyed. I was impressed how well it held up. I was so impressed that we decided that we were going to stick with Infiniti for our next car. We just didn't know if we were going to get another FX, an M35X or a G35X (we do live in Canada after all)

Well after a very brief search, we decided on an '07 G35S. We couldn't find any X's that we liked. After a few days in it, I have to say that I'm pleased with our decision. It handles great, goes like hell, and stops just as good!

I can see fuel economy being an issue as it's a car that begs to be driven hard. But I'm willing to trade that for the "fun factor". Going to throw the snows on this weekend and I guess we'll have to see how she does in the white stuff when it ever decides to get here.

Aside from that I'm working on getting the door panels and steering wheel peeling issue fixed (no luck so far with two dealers). Lucky for me, the former owner had already installed Stillen Airboxes. The sound great!

Future mods will include a midnight grill, sport skirt, black roof, and 19's or 20's (haven't decided).

Looking forward to being part of this community.

Hope the pics work....

We're both very impressed so far. I just have to control myself...I have a serious case of "mod-itis".

Hopefully you can control yourself w/ the mods if it's going to be a family car.

Oh for sure. Like I mentioned, for the time being it looks like they're going to be strictly cosmetic mods.

Glad no one was injured - cars can always be replaced.

Good looking new ride and welcome to the site!

Just some warranty news....got off the phone with Infiniti Canada regarding the door handle trim and the steering wheel issue. They told me that I had to go into a dealer to get them to inspect it. My two local dealers tried to brush me off without even looking at it saying they no longer do that.

The dealership which originally sold the vehicle stated that the had been doing the steering wheel but that Infiniti had been rejecting the door panels. The advisor told me to bring it in anyway because you "just never know what they'll authorize". I feel good about the wheel because the panels are only about $100 to replace if I really have to pay for it myself. I'll push my luck and see if they can throw in the shift **** while they're at it.

In other news, I installed my new WeatherTech mats today. Getting the snows thrown on this weekend and sending the stained front rims to be refinished. Also getting my tech to give it it's first oil change (under my ownership) transmission fluid change, brake fluid flush, fuel injector service and cabin filter change.
