#16
things to look for on a S pkg. 07-08 G35
paddle shifters
White stitching on steering wheel and seat
18inch wheels. (non sport could have wheels by having wheel pkg.)
13.0 inch rotors 2piston front 1 piston rear
front bumper
side skirts
LSD
brake and Gas pedal have aluminum covers
X S models
same as RWD pkg except
brakes
lsd

As I just purchased an Xs I can tell you that this car has some funny things about it.
1) The wheels are correct for the Sport package.
2) The car has the Sport Seats. You can tell by the extra side bolster adj on the left front edge of the drivers seat.
3) The car does not look like it has the Paddle Shifters. (STRANGE)
4) The car does not look like it has the upgraded Sport Brakes (STRANGE) This option only exists on the RWD sport.
5) The S badge can be purchased for like 20 bucks on line so dont get fooled by that.
6) In theory the car should handle better than a normal G35 as it will have the upgraded Sway bars on the RWD sport. It should be noticable.
This car is just wierd.
How or why would it not come with the brakes and shifters???
Why would someone put the sport seats in a non sport?
Thats got to be alot of work. I mean the wheels and the badge are easy. But the seats thats some money.
Also I was not aware you could buy parts of the sport package.
Just some info for you. Good luck.. The car seems pretty wierd to me though. Parts of the sport package but not everything. Could mean alot or it could mean nothing.

I know I have the Sports front bumper, but I am not sure about the side skirts.
This is what my car looks like.

thats a sport.
seats are a dead give away. Check the steering wheel for white stitching as well.
if its not then you scored! a non sport with sport seats would be awesome.

i think the car was in a repair shop.. the car could have water damage to the inside which was changed out and the repair guy put what he could find back in the car.. Like someone said, this car could have been damaged b4 and now they are trying to sell it as something it's not.. GET A CARFAX.. look to see if u can see any body damage under the car or anywhere u can think of that most people wont notice

Could the car be a 2007 model? I've driven an '07 Sport that definitely had firmer, grippier seats and a tighter suspension. And from perusing Consumer Guide's info on options, it appears that there were appearance packages for the 2007 that gave you the aero kit (front fender, side skirts) and the wheels without actually giving you all the performance upgrades. This is just a guess I'm making, as I remain baffled as to how the car has all the external visual cues without having something as obvious as paddle shifters.
apexi, it's not that I'm wed to the "S" as much as I want to know where these mods came from. I don't want to buy a car that someone made all these modifications to after the fact. Whether it has a sport package or not, I want it to be factory-installed.

Well I don't know that the paddles are the only thing missing. Perhaps you can tell from the pictures but I don't know for sure. I drove a 2007 sport and the suspension and seats were definitely firmer.

I've got an '07 Sport 6MT.. So I have no paddle shifters either (obviously)..
If it's a Sport it should have 245's in the rear. I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that if you got upgraded rims on a non-sport they would still be 225's all around.
Also, my front brakes are noticeably larger.. unless my visual perception is off.
