Beltronics + Mikes Mount + Stealth Cord = :]
I got my Beltronics Rx65 Pro series radar detector last week at Fry's Electronics with my employee discount, so it came out to be $240 compared to retail price for $320 for the detector. Mikes mount was $23 and the Stealthcord on eBay was $9.50 with shipping.
The Mount was kind of tricky to figure out...after 20 minutes I realzied that I had to bend my radar mount for it in order to work. Stealthcord on the other hand was a snap. Took me 5 minutes and afterwards, I went into work.
Here are some pics guys.
StealthCord in its package. Styrofoam is protecting the fuse and tips.
Side view of Mike's Mount and StealthCord in action.
Front shot of my detector.
Night time shot for everyone.
As you can tell i am very happy about this haha. Well if you guys have some questions about the setup, I can answer them.

Not a huge fan of the mount. That is easily noticeable by cops and/or thieves. (Also, not to mention the drivers behind you who take advantage of your radar detector.) I have mine hardwired near the tint strip directly to the left of my RVM so it is harder to see from cops/thieves. I have accidentally left my Escort Redline ($500 device) sitting there for a week in a parking garage far away and there hasn't been any problem. Also, having my radar detector just around the tint strip makes it harder for people to notice that I have a radar detector from the front of the windshield. I don't have it mounted behind the tint, just right at the tint line so the sensor isn't blocked. The mount also decreases your visibility by a lot; that's why I never hang anything from my mirror.
Also not a fan of the stealth cord; you void your warranty doing that and possibly screw some amperage from the mirror later down the road since it's running out of spec.
I use add-a-fuse kit and have it hardwired to my fusebox near the brake pedal...that way, my warranty is still intact and there are no amperage issues or power draw that could damage other electronics.
If you also ever use a windshield mount GPS with that setup, it would be a pain in the *** to really see out that windshield.
The best part is that it's cheaper with my setup than having to buy a mount, and that it works for all cars.

Yea i'm realizing that right now. When the radar detector starts up I get a message saying "Low volt" everytime the car starts up. Warranty is out of the question because I have no more warranty.

It doesn't really matter if it noticeable by cops because there are no laws against them. I understand what your talking about related to thieves, but it is not that difficult to take out and hide. Radar detectors do have different modes of darkness as well. Visibility is not really an issue because it's not in my line of sight.

Visibility may not matter for you, but I guess for many people it does. That's why in some states it's illegal to have windshield mounts or things that hang from your RVM...Honestly, it does create some sort of blind spot for you when you want to change lanes to the right and the car in front of you stops suddenly...My friend got two tickets: one (something about obstructing view in NJ) for having something hanging from his mirror and 2: talking on a cell phone. A cop saw him talking on the cell phone but didn't pull him over when a pedestrian pointed at my friend and yelled to the cop "He's talking on his cell phone!" The whole point is to try to keep things discreet so others won't notice. It's the same with license plate frames; some cops will pull you over for having them that obstruct some letters while others don't care. Cops are more likely to care if they see a radar detector blatantly hanging from your RVM or windshield...Just like cops are more likely to pull over cars with modified exhaust/racer vehicles; they are more likely to pull over those with radar detectors.
It is also the reason why people fail inspection because there's a small window chip/crack in the middle/driver's side.
EDIT: "An Obstruction to Vision" and IS a violation of the vehicle codes of most states. It is normally overlooked but at the discretion of the officer he may issue a violation if they feel it is, in fact, an obstruction (e.g.: too big - too distracting - etc).

It does matter because if I were a cop, and I see that, I would more likely to give you a ticket than let you off with a warning. Even if you were driving like a model citizen, some cops may always find some bogus charge to give you a ticket for. It's all about the cop's perspective... Personally, I like to limit that problem so cops wouldn't feel more compelled to pull me over for something stupid.

If your not driving dumb or doing anything that can give them a probable cause to pull you over whats the problem? In Georgia it is legal to have radar/laser detectors and there is nothing that does not allow windshield mounts. It creates a very little blind spot for me. I can still see the entire road, compared to what other people say.
Actually, every state has a law about "obstructing view", CA and Minnesota are the only ones that actually enforce it to any great length.
Cops can, have, ticketed RD users for having their RD (Radar Detector)on the windsheild.

I did read what you wrote and frankly I disagree. I'm not ignorant to what you wrote and I do understand where you
