Hey guys,

I have a 2007 G35x with about 74,000 miles on it. It appears the yellow service light, "Check Engine Soon" light up last week. I was wondering how to turn this light off, without going to the dealer. Do you guys have any suggestions? Do I need to buy one of those devices online to reset/turn off the light? Thanks.

Sorry, I mean "Service Engine Soon", instead of "Check Engine Soon".

 

Look at your service reminders in the console. You can program it to remind you of oil changes and the like. I turn mine off.

 

^ but those maintenance msgs come on within the red screen in red, he said the light is coming on yellow which should be outside of the center red lcd display. Might need an oil change, filter change or similar

 

Go to Advance Auto Parts and have them check your codes with the OBD scanner. IT IS FREE!

 

I called my local Infiniti dealership and they said it was the Check Engine light that was on. They told me that new vehicles just have one light for Check Engine and Service Engine. I check my local Advance store and they told me that they don't check if it is the service light. I didn't know so, I will go back to the autostore next week. Thanks guys.

check engine or service i forgot, but i wanna say it was check engine like yours....anyways mine was on also and in another thread an individual advised that your gas cap may not have been clicked 3 full times or not, which was the case for mine and it shut off a day later... maybe this helps if not good luck bro,...happy holidays!

 

^ ya thats one of the most common cause for the CEL on newer cars with minimal abuse.
