radar detector beeping problem?

Hey everyone, just wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix this or what im having an issue with. So I had a passport escort 8500 x50(red) for about a month or two and recently a GA state trooper got me going 32 over. Ever since then I have been looking at getting a V1. well finally I got one for real cheap. Now when I have it plugged in it will not stop beeping laser. I've read issues about some lasers in the car setting it off. What's the best thing I should do. If I were to get a invisicord and blendmount would that help since it would be closer to my mirrors? I just don't want to spend the money on the cord and mount if my V1 will continue going off every second im in my car. If anyone has any ideas or comments on what i should do please help me out. Thanks guys

i have a v1 in mine and my laser detection doesnt go off every second. Not to be a downer but are you sure your v1 is not defective?

maybe that was why it was "real cheap".

Same, i rarely has an issue with false laser. I would check the serial number of the V1 that might help you find some answers.

My nav screen set off the laser warning periodically on my Escort 8500. I moved it from a Mike's Mount to the visor clip and problem was solved.

My 9500's laser gets triggered by house alarms and random stuff too. What I do is turn off laser completely unless I'm traveling on a major highway with troopers, other than that when I'm driving around town there's no need for laser detection.

Hell we have laser all over our city. Freeways, neighborhood streets, the list is endless.

my 8500 worked flawlessly... But you can not beat a cop when they flip it on to get you. No detector would help you with that...

My 9500 works great as well, very seldom do i get a false Laser, and that usually only happens when I am passing the Air Port.

I think you got a smokin deal on that V1 for a reason....

yup, best way to not get a ticket is to slow down dam man 32 over, you also gotta look out for cops not just fly down the road singing along to nsync lol, oh but yeah sounds like you got ripped on that v1 lol

^ahhahahah.... I got nailed once for 79 mph.... I was on my brand new Ducati 748S. The biggest issue was that I was in a 35 mph speed zone.

Yeah, that one hurt, but the cop cut me a HUGE break because I stopped and waited for him. Running was not an option. turned out he radioed for backup before I was even passed him, and both the other cops showed up as I was talking with him, so it was a damned good thing I did not try to run.

I know Valentine has an option where you can send in your unit and they will fix it (free if under warrenty, a charge if not). About 5 years ago, my V1 had something wrong with the arrows and I sent it in for repair. I got it back a week later and its worked perfectly since.

When I had my V1 in my last car, half of the Inifnitis I'd pass would set off the laser alert. When we got an FX45 with intelligent cruise and we were driving home with both cars, the V1 was going nuts on laser. I suspect that the issue is linked to the ICC but I haven't had my V1 in my G35 since I got it (it finally died after 8 years) to verify.
