Wasnt there a problem with installing an auto start stated a while ago? If i recall a lot of people were having a problem because in order to start our cars the key Fob has to be in the car. Does anyone know if they have solved this problem? because i have been looking into buying/installing an auto start and just want to make sure it will work. thanks

I got a 07 g35x sedan and got the Clifford 5702 installed. That has the 2 way lcd pager w/ auto start.
With the module, it doesnt require a key fob to be in the car so i got to keep both of my key fobs. Everything worked perfectly fine for a couple weeks and then....
The only issue I had was that after a few weeks of having the alarm in, when i got into the car to start it... i pressed the brake, pushed the button to start it & it just went to ACC. Pushed it again & it went to ON but it wouldnt start the car for nothing. The auto start worked perfect but I just couldnt get the car to start. After trying & trying, I finally got the car to start. Took about 20 tries.
I took it to the dealer & they determined that the alarm shorted out the BCM & the BCM had to be replaced. I got the alarm removed & after that, the bad BCM worked perfectly fine with no starting issues. The BCM was replaced anyway by the dealer since it was under warranty & I never put anything back in.
The installer of the alarm said he did everything correctly & that the alarm couldnt of been the issue but it obviously seems that way since as soon as it was removed, I had no starting issues.

youcan use any remote start just make sure they do the wiring right. use idatalink bypass. if they dont do the wiring right, you'll get weird BCM issues such as tire pressure light and etc. all they need to do is use a -ve ignition to power the unit. i know a lot of people got their BCMs replaced because the dealer thought the BCM is dead, when it actually isnt. also they gotta diode isolate a wire so that you dont get a "no key" light coming on...

The local Infiniti dealer (at least where I am) still install the remote start with the extra keyfob. My coworker just had that installed and I wasn't too impressed (especially since his car has the "key is still in the car" sound/beep every time he opens his door).
I didn't realize that there are systems existed that can get around the need for a keyfob.
