i bought my '08 earlier this month used.. when the dealer was prepping my car for resale, they swapped out the door trim and steering wheel bc of these issues..

however, the shifter in the center is pretty scratched up on the middle metal portion.. has anyone had luck getting that replaced under warranty?

Quick update...

So, I brought it in to get the cruise control fixed and of course, that had nothing to do with the new steering wheel being installed. Really? My cruise control (operated on the steering wheel) just happened to go out right after they worked on my steering wheel....and the two aren't related? Sure Infiniti of Marietta, Georgia. Only the third time in the past three times I've heard a ridiculous reason come out of your month.

I didn't get mine replaced, but I did use masking tape and steel wool and just took the coating off. If you go this route, just make sure to only go in one direction when using the steel wool. I'll try to get a picture posted of my end result.

Here's what it looks like after hitting it with steel wool. I'm sure you could polish it up a bit for more of a finished look. The person who owned my car before me either wore a ton of jewelry or had dragonlady nails or both. I'm still getting scratches off the outside door handle.

They had Dr. Vinyl repair mine. You can't tell there was a problem but not sure how long it will last.

hey, for those of you who got a new steering wheel, how did you fix the alignment yourself?

because I just got mine car back and it is off very slightly but still, car will pull to the left if i put the steering wheel straight...it is annoying. damn infiniti tech..
